"Staying at the Taj Fateh Prakash was a wonderful experience. We received a free upgrade to the Luxury Suite with Sitout, which had a great view of the Lake Pichola and the White Palace.
The staff members were very professional and service-minded. Although the dining option was rather limited (there was only one restaurant), we enjoyed the beautiful view from the multi-cuisine “Sunset Terrace.” The breakfast buffet had plenty of options. We were also satisfied with the food, service, and ambience at dinner.
Please note that if you have mobility issues, this hotel can be a bit challenging. Also, since this heritage property is part of the City Palace Complex, the security is fairly tight, which can limit your freedom of movement a bit.
Overall, I would highly recommend it for lovers of heritage properties, lake views, and wonderful service. You literally get to stay in a palace, and can feel history come alive, especially with all the portraits of the Maharanas (kings) of the past. However, if you have mobility issues or place a premium on the ease of movement, you may want to think twice about this living museum. "
