On the site’s western flank is Coolidge State Park, which has hillside campsites overlooking scenic valleys. Wander through nature trails and capture photos of the Black River Valley and Green Mountains.

Get a sense of the local culture with a trip to the state capital of Montpelier. Enjoy a picnic in one of the city’s open green spaces, such as Hubbard Park and Mill Pond Park. Woodstock has upscale shops and restaurants as well as the Mount Tom Peak and Woodstock Town Hall Theater. In Brandon see the Brandon Museum to learn the story of Stephen A. Douglas, a 19th-century statesman from the town.

The region comprises the central part of Vermont. Fly to Burlington International Airport and drive southeast for about 50 miles (80 kilometers) to get here. Visit nearby landmarks, including White Mountain National Forest, Green Mountain National Forest and West Canada Lake Wilderness Area in New York State.
