"The place was beautiful, secure, quiet. It looked like the Encanto movie! The surrounding area is also safe to walk around. Breakfast was okay, but it was part of the stay so can’t complain about that!
It was relatively warm in the room, but not as bad as other places. The nights were cooler, so all we had to do was open the window if it got too warm. There is an upstairs part in every room (I believe) that is such a cute sitting area with a mini fridge. The only thing I’d be sure you’re aware of if staying with friends is that there is no bathroom door, just a curtain separating bedroom from bathroom. The toilet does have a door, but it’s like a stall, so it doesn’t hide any noises. So just be aware of that if wanting extra privacy. Otherwise, it was great!! "
"The staff were really lovely and helped with all our needs. The pet alpaca was very cuite and made eating food in the resteraunt a treat when you can see him :)"
Palacio del Inka, A Luxury Collection Hotel by Marriott
10/10 Excellent
"This was an experience like no other and exceptional in every way. Staff were extremely helpful, courteous and professional. The building itself is like a museum (it actually was until the 1970s!) so expect to see genuine historical art on the walls, remnants of Inka stonework, original colonial architecture. The restaurant is excellent for breakfast lunch or dinner. We only stayed one night here for my birthday and the hotel sent up a birthday cake to the room!! I was blown away. I’ve never paid this much for a room in my life but it was 100% worth the price point. If they offer you a discounted upgrade, take it!! I’ve never been in such an opulent room and the name of the hotel is apt - Inka Palace - I felt like royalty. Handy to know: the hotel is steps from some excellent shops, ruins and restaurants. There is an ATM in the lobby and the front desk will break large notes for you. Absolutely exceptional. When I’m next in Cusco I will definitely be back! Hopefully for a longer stay!!"
"Nice hotel. Close to a lot of restaurants and shop. Easy walk to attractions as well and the hotel staff connected us with tours and taxis. Highly recommended!"
"The room was clean and well situated. Breakfast was very good quality and the staff was always pleasant and willing to help with any requests. Between my two stays (I was gone 4 days for the Inca Trail), the staff kept my luggage safe on their location and I found it waiting in my room when I returned. Everything was top notch. I was at Tierra Viva 14 years ago when I first went to Peru and it was my first choice returning this year. I do not regret that choice and would make it again in a heartbeat if I returned."
"This hotel is a little walk to the historical center but not too bad. The altitude is something you need to watch and many people get the headache and low oxygen saturation levels so you need to take it easy Day 1 and let your body acclimate. The staff was extremely kind and professional. I highly recommend this hotel. "
