We had a wonderful stay at El Balcón del Sol. The 3-bedroom apartment was clean and much more spacious than we expected. Having a full kitchen and a large living room equipped with everything we needed made it feel like home. The host was very accommodating, checking in to ensure we had everything we needed, and the WiFi was very reliable. After long days of trekking, being able to cook a meal and relax in the hot tub was the ultimate luxury. It was the perfect place to recharge.

We were immediately impressed with the care and responsiveness by our host. The owner is in Lima and was in constant contact with us. The onsite host was also available via WhatApp with a reasonable delay in communication. We could not ask for more caring and kind hospitality. They were truly wonderful, regularly reaching out to see id there was something they could provide us with. It’s important to note that Spanish is the primary language and communication occurs via WhatApp or Google Translate which can be difficult at times. Additionally, the apartment does not have heating or cooling. Blankets are comfortable and plentiful but we had to ask for a portable heater to be made available. Make sure that you do this in advance as it takes about 24 hours to provide a heating unit. This was our first visit to Cusco and the distance from the city center was a little further than we had expected. The surrounding area is “local” and we would have preferred something closer to the center but that was my mistake in making the booking. Just be aware of this when you book. The apartment was clean and spacious when we entered but did lack the “curb appeal” when we entered. The initial entry is spartan but the apartment itself was well furnished and sparkling clean. We were a bit disappointed in some of the “essentials” like coffee or sugar or a couple bottles of water on arrival. Those can be overlooked but if we were to ask, we believe that they would have been provided.

Beautiful, clean space. Very kind and communicative host. If booking through Expedia (and you select pay later) you must pay in cash upon arriving at the property (soles or usd).

From dealing with Maribel in the beginning then with Araceli, the customer service was out of this world, the property was in excellent shape, the area safe to walk and plenty of transportation is availabe around the area

Apartamento muy bien equipado y acogedor para visitar Cusco. Maribel y Aracely son personas muy agradables y siempre estan pendientes por si nesecitas algo. Se los recomiendo para su visita a Cusco.

Perfect balance of comfort and authenticity

We booked this apartment because we wanted to stay in an authentic residential area of Cusco rather than in the tourist heart of the town. We were immediately charmed by the tastefully decorated interior, the stunning view over the town, and the hospitality of the host. The apartment is a pleasant few minutes stroll (best walking route is down Calle Fiero) to the markets and main square, so it's the perfect balance between proximity to the center and the genuine experience of living where Cusconians live.. With three-bedrooms and open-plan living area, the apartment is very spacious and family-friendly - one of the kids remarked 'can we move here'! when we first saw it :) And, of course, Cusco is just amazing.

Es un apartamento muy cómodo y acogedor; te sientes como en casa. Las habitaciones son muy cómodas y limpias, la propietaria es amable y siempre atenta de lo que necesites. Adicionalmente ofrecen un buen servicio de alimentación por un mínimo precio. Finalmente, cuenta con muy buena vista al centro de la ciudad.
