Our flight was very late leaving Boston, so our connection in Detroit was squeezed. Delta crew on the Boston-Detroit leg announced that Delta crew would be waiting at the top of the jetway in Detroit to assist with making connections or rebooking. That did not happen. So, I had to sprint to my gate to try to make my connection (I made it) but I completely wasted time trying to find help from Delta. Please don't let crew promise things that won't be delivered. Also, the "help stations" are all automated and not staffed. Terrible idea. In these situations, I just want to ask a quick question — should I bother to sprint. The machine cannot answer that. So frustrating.
