"We are not a full-service hotel" was the mantra the front desk used with us and other guests I overheard asking about various unexpected shortcomings of the property. For example, we were not informed ahead of time that parking would be an additional eighteen dollars. That might be expected in a downtown hotel, but in the suburbs just off the interstate ever other hotel assumes you're going to park a car overnight and works it into the cost.
Another example is that they were unable process cash payments (odd, but not unheard of) or even credit cards for certain costs. huh? A specific, smartphone-based payment app was mandatory which would only work with a US-based phone number. This proved a difficulty as we arrived from overseas with international phone numbers.
There were other quirks like this, but suffice to say we won't be staying in this chain again.
