"Room temperature was 28 degrees when we arrived absolutely ridiculous. One window was nailed shut. Window in the bathroom didn’t tilt so couldn’t leave open as birds may fly in. Glass top on the vanity table. Glass not lifted for cleaning, plenty of crumbs underneath it and coffee residue. Green leather wall panel behind bed absolutely covered in dust. Dinner was not nice- rotisserie chicken which I received within 10 minutes of ordering so obviously batch cooked earlier in the day. It was sooo dry and the potatoes were cold. I had 2 bites of the chicken couldn’t eat anymore. Breakfast strange set up. Set up buffet style but all served to the table. No croissants and the poached egg was overcooked. Definitely won’t be staying again. Maryborough House Hotel is a far nicer hotel."

"Historic and Iconic! Surrounded by shopping, restaurants, pubs and a seaside park across the park where people bring their dogs. Not to mention St. Colman’s Cathedral you can see so vividly from the roof while sipping a cocktail. The Commodore’s own restaurant had an excellent breakfast with ample hours of you’re inclined to sleep in. Truly enjoyed staying in the grand old gal. Thank you."

"The hotel is clearly aged. Everything needs a revamp. The carpet is old and stained in the general areas and worse in the rooms. The room carpet was dusty and looked like it was not vacuumed or steamed. The carpet was peeling off the floors. The tub was stained and black marks from the tub peeling. The shower curtain was just disgusting, the colour of the bottom of the curtain was completely different from the top of the curtain. The towels were just thrown into the shelf. The towels were very hard as if they were not washed properly. The curtains to block the windows were just full of dust. There was old water in the kettle, who knows how long it was in there. Felt like a hostel. The staff at the desk and the restaurant/bar were excellent. The hotel itself just needs help. "

"My daughter and I stayed for just one overnight on our travels back to Dublin. The location is on the water, outside the city, but is a small, beautiful hotel. The only downside was that the lift was not working so we had to carry our luggage up a flight of stairs, but the view over the harbor was splendid! The amenities had everything we needed and the staff was so attentive. While they do have a lovely restaurant on property, we walked just down into the town where there are many other dining options as well. And appreciated the free parking under the hotel! Highly recommend this hotel! "
