The hotel was nice. The location for quiet and fresh air was perfect. The staff was good. My major issue was the construction. Their site stated that the construction would begin at 9:30. While not ideal, this was acceptable to us. At 8:03am the diesel loaders were all started up, at 8:06 the back up alarms went offf on the dump truck. All things were beautiful up until that point when I was awaken that way. If they had been transparent and disclosed that the construction would start at 8:00 I would have simply booked elsewhere.

Absolutely don’t stay at this hotel if you go to Geneva. I stayed there during the week of the heatwave and the AC was basically not working. I had to go to bed with wet hair and wet clothes to survive and a fan blowing air towards me. Absolute nightmare. I was able to sleep maybe an hour or two out of exhaustion. At check out, I complained to the lady at the reception, who followed up with a “sorry”. That’s it. $800+ for a “””5*””” hotel room and a “sorry” you couldn’t sleep because the AC is poor. I had to run to the airport so I left it there and then contacted the Orbitz customer support to pick up the case - while the customer support team at Orbitz was helpful, the hotel refused to issue any form of refund or compensation, which is what typically hotels do when the service they provide is not up to standards they advertise and you pay for. Absolutely disappointed. Avoid if you want to have a nice stay in a lovely city like Geneva. Other points: - the hotel is old and quirky inside, some people might like it, I personally didn’t. - the WiFi was not working from my bed. - I’ve been to two other hotels in Geneva during the same heatwave and never had an issue with AC like in this one. So be careful when you choose.
