"Was under the impression that the hotel was in Oakham but in reality it was 7- 8 miles away.
This was not at all obvious when the booking was made. It might be a good idea to state this in the ad.
The hotel itself was good. The menu in the dining room was very limited, but what was on the menu was cooked well.
Shame about the taxi fare we had to pay getting back and fore to Oakham. "

"From the outset the customer service was excellent. Lovely room with great view across to the water. Restaurant staff were so friendly and again the service was excellent. The menu was limited but what we had we thoroughly enjoyed. Perhaps a couple of traditional Indian dishes would be an excellent addition. "
"Really nice place. Friendly and very helpful. Only a one night stay this time which was a pity because I enjoyed a longer stay last time and would have liked to stay a bit longer this time. The restaurant is closed on Mondays but plenty of other options a short walk away in the high street. I would ahve liked to eat at Candlesticks though becuase the food there was excellent last time. "
"Amazing hotel in all regards. Really enjoyed our stay. Lovely area, nice walks nearby, great hotel rooms and restaurants. Clean, very nicely furnished. Superb service from staff. Great food in the Hancock Kitchen (less formal of the 2 restaurants) - didn’t eat at the more formal one. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at for many many years. Encourage anyone to visit."
