Warm welcome from the owner Nelio on our arrival. Good facilities in the room including fridge and toaster for breakfast. Short walk into town with all it's amenities.

The room was on the small side and needs redecorating as its old and tired. Landlord very helpful with a complementary glass of wine. Parking was great and in a brilliant location only 5 mins walk into the centre. Plenty tea and coffee and breakfast items in the fridge. If the room was a bit more upto date and brighter then it would have been perfect.

Lovely hotel in a great location for the town centre and the Corn Exchange. The owner was so friendly and couldn’t have done anything more for us. We had a lovely breakfast and definitely want to return to experience the restaurant.

Had a lovely 2 days in Stamford with a one night stay at the Candlesticks, a lovely little hotel run by a wonderful host. Nothing was too much trouble for him, looked after extremely well. A delicious 3 course meal in the candle lit cellar restaurant, a lovely ambiance for a relaxing evening with friends. A nightcap drink at the bar chatting to our host, The next morning a lovely full English with all locally sourced ingredients freshly bought that morning was prepared for us, couldn’t have asked for more. A small parking area beside the hotel is ideal and we were allowed to leave our car there after checking out while we spent a little more time in Stamford before heading home.

Parking was easy and safe. The room was clean and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was good and it was nice to have real milk in the fridge, rather than the long life one usually offered. Reasonably priced and right in the centre of town, would definitely stay again.

The host was very accomadating and helpful.Parking a bonus in Stamford.The continental breakfast, with fresh bread, milk, fresh fruit was a excellent.Lovely, old building with plenty of character.Looking foward to our next stay in lovely Stamford.

This was good value for money. Right in the center of Stamford, so very convenient. The room was clean, beds comfortable, very quiet. Breakfast selection was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. Parking at the hotel was limited but we got a space. Very satisfied, look forward to a return visit to try out the restaurant which was closed on this visit.

A small but friendly hotel with a very highly recommended restaurant. I booked a single room which was perfectly suited to my needs. Parking is tight but that has to be expected in a Medieval town that was built for horses not cars. Overall a very pleasant stay. I would certainly stay again.

Great, central location, nice walk into main part of town. Room was comfortable and clean. The owner was very helpful, moving cars around to make sure parking was sorted. Also allowing us to use a different room for a shower in the morning, as I broke the pull cord on the shower in our original room!
