Cabin, Pool, Hot Tub, Wineries and Mountains Oh My!

  • ***Pool open May-September. Heated option available at additional cost. If your dates aren't available on the calendar, please contact the property manager for inquiry.***

Secluded on 12 private wooded acres overlooking a quiet lake, you will find 6 bedrooms and 5 full/2 half baths in over 6,000 square feet of log cabin living.

Vaulted ceilings, a game room, and a surround sound theater room with reclining seats await you and your guests. A chef's kitchen is completely stocked with all the necessary supplies to help you create the perfect getaway meals or cookouts on the grill. Evenings on the decks look west for a gorgeous sunset over the Blue Ridge mountains across the lake. Finish your nights off with a dip in the hot tub to wash your worries away.

The location is perfect for friend and family trips as it is near multiple wineries, breweries, antiques, and local Main Street shopping. Don't worry if it rains; you can fill your days in the dedicated puzzle room with lots of puzzles and games, theater room, or pub/game room, which includes a pool table, foosball, ping-pong, and air hockey. Even better for families with young children, as the house is stocked with kid-friendly amenities (toys, pack-n-play, baby seat, utensils, plates, and sippy cups). All within an easy drive to Charlottesville, Luray or Shenandoah National Park, VA.

Overall, this was an excellent place to stay. The house is as beautiful as it appears in the listing, and we loved the privacy of the place. There was plenty of space for our whole family, and we loved the pool and game room. The property manager was responsive and communicated with us throughout the week when we needed to know anything. It is definitely a place we would consider renting again.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to get away, this place is the spot. Spacious cabin with great views of the lake. Secluded property ensures privacy, while you enjoy all the amenities of cabin and grounds. Between the: game room, hot tub, fire pit, amazing chef’s kitchen, and theater room you’ll always have something to do. Close to downtown Culpeper, where you can enjoy really good restaurants and shops. For history buffs, there are several historical sites to visit that a short drive from the cabin. Also, there are numerous wineries and breweries nearby to enjoy.Overall, I can’t recommend the cabin enough. Whether you’re visiting family/friends or just looking for a place to unwind for a few days you can’t go wrong with the Blue Bird Cabin.

Communication excellent. Availability of video to show how to set up outdoor lighting , etc was very helpful. The property is beautifully maintained, appliances and finishes are first rate. The path to the lake is a bit rough- as noted on the website.Pool and hot tub area are very user friendly and well designed. If you want to kayak, perhaps check with owner about how many life jackets are available . There were only two for our stay . Three are ideal and a child’s size would be an appreciated addition. We were a party of 12 from ages 8 to 75; the cabin layout provided separate space for the three teenagers, which the loved! Plenty of ways to have privacy ; many ways to gather. All were delighted.

The media and game rooms were the absolute best. The kitchen was a chef’s dream as we cooked many meals there. The pool and hot tub added a very special element that we enjoyed, and the fire pit a special ambiance at night that we enjoyed. There is plenty of parking. Our family enjoyed our week stay. The house was very spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. The house had many games, books, and movies to choose from for the few days we had some rain. The pool and hot tub were great. Courtney, the property manager, was very quick to respond when we had questions.

Highly recommended

The home is beautiful, it was very clean, well-maintained, and had everything we needed. The location is beautiful. The lakeside view was really relaxing and the outdoor amenities (hot tub, pool, firepit, patio seating) were excellent. It was secluded, but also not way out there. All our family (adults and little kids) had a blast.

I honestly cannot say enough great things about this property. This is one of the best houses we have ever rented. All of the rooms were beautiful and exactly as described. The pool was amazing and accommodated our large group of 15. The lake was a bit of a hike but still gorgeous through the trees. It had any amenity that you could ever want from the outside, to the game rooms to the kitchen. It felt like a lot of care was taken from the owners to provide a great experience for their guests and we had a GREAT experience. Would definitely stay here again.

Our family enjoyed a week together. The home and amenities were wonderful. The cabin was spacious and very clean. There were several toys for children of different ages. The kitchen was well stock with appliances, dishes and glassware. We mainly used the pool, hot tub, firepit, media room and game room. There were a few glitches with the pool's circuit breaker, however the property manager was very responsive and quick to resolve. All the family members mentioned "What a great place!"

Family Reunion Fun!

We had an amazing stay at Cori and Ted’s place. The house was amazing and plenty of room for our 11 family members, spanning 3 generations. The house was incredibly clean and well stocked. The pool area was wonderful! We had a few maintenance type issues and the responses from Cori and Ted were incredibly quick and they solved the problems for us. We would definitely return for another week, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book if you’re looking at the listing!
