“I stayed in Hotel stad en Land with my husband and 2 kids. We had a connected room with a double bed and 2 single beds at the uppermost floor. Staff are nice and the room condition is a lot better than I expected for such a historic building. It is opposite to the train station. Cheese market and car parks are within 10 minutes walk. No elevator may be a little drawback.”

![We traveled across Afsluitdijk while touring in the Netherlands.  It was truly impressive to see how the small nation has kept the sea at bay (no pun intended).  At this stop near the middle of the structure, there is some history that explains how each stone was installed by hand, along with a great many other impressive metrics.
