Designed for time together and space to unwind, it’s set up for relaxed days and comfortable nights by the coast. \- Sleeps 16 | 5 bedrooms | 8 beds | 7 baths \- Pool w/ optional heat (Oct-May, $75/night) \- Outdoor space w/ tiki bar & game room \- Beach access \- Pet-friendly (max 2 dogs, $150 per dog per stay) The Space: Morning light filters through the windows as a coastal breeze moves through the home, setting an easy rhythm for your stay. Just one home back from the shoreline, your days naturally flow between beach walks, time by the pool, and relaxed evenings spent together across generous indoor and outdoor spaces. With the Gulf close by and room to gather or spread out, the setting feels comfortable and unhurried. The space Salty Skipper is an entire home in Destin, fully renovated in 2025 and thoughtfully arranged across two levels to accommodate up to 16 guests. Beach access is directly off the street, keeping the shoreline within easy reach throughout your stay. Sleeping arrangements The first floor serves as a central hub for larger groups and sleeps up to 12 guests. It features two king master suites, each with a private bathroom, along with a bunk room offering two queen-over-queen bunks that sleep up to eight. This level also includes a game room with a 70-inch Smart TV, a pool table, and a full sized refrigerator. The second floor offers a quieter retreat for up to four guests. Two additional king master suites each include a private bathroom. a living room, complete with a sectional sofa and a 70-inch Smart TV. This level also includes a fully stocked kitchen, a dining room with a large table and chairs, and a laundry room for added convenience. Outdoor living Outdoor space centers around the pool, a natural gathering spot throughout the day. Pool heat may be added for the duration of your reservation for an additional nightly fee of $75.00 and is available seasonally from October through May. Patio and backyard areas provide space to relax outdoors, and beach access is close by, with beach essentials available for your use. Amenities & comfort The home includes WiFi, Smart TVs throughout, washer and dryer, bathroom essentials, and air conditioning and heating for year-round comfort. Needs some improvements especially downstairs. The railing on the upper deck is wobbly and needs to be fixed. My husband leaned on it and the entire thing moved, we had to make sure to tell all the kids to stay away from it and not to touch it. The chairs on the upper deck are rotted and broken and need to be replaced. The pool and the outside area is amazing. The upstairs is amazing. The downstairs is mainly just dated and old, electrical outlets in the living room need to be updated. Everything was clean and overall it was a great stay with no issues. The beach access that across the street is super small, and was packed !! We rented a golf cart for the week so we all hopped on it and went a few short blocks down the road to were there was inflatables in the water and the kids had a blast. The back bathroom by the pool that everyone essentially needs to use throughout the day if they're hanging outside is literally smaller than a typical closet and to get out to the pool you have to walk through the bathroom and shower which essentially makes that entire bathroom impossible to use if you have people coming in and out frequently. The upstairs is much nicer than the downstairs but the downstairs kitchen was not convenient for use at all, very small and zero utensils at all. The beach access while close is also not great because it is a small sliver of beach surrounded by private property so people get all jam packed in it and there's no room to actually relax at all. The stairs are located outside, which we were told about when we booked (not a big deal for us because we are all 35+). Overall, having the 3br (including the bunk room) but only 2 baths downstairs was a bit challenging. Additionally the downstairs bathroom is accessible from the pool area, meaning that the folks downstairs have to schedule showers/toilet time carefully (or carry everything upstairs). Parking is also a bit challenging (3 cars max), but the owner/rep (who was very nice) gave us some potential options for parking off-site. In the long run we just found a way to travel all 12 of us in 3 cars. The pool is very private and is where we spent most of the time! Very nice and plenty of room for all of us. The house itself is older and yes, could use some updates, but everything worked as needed (including the A/C) and served the purpose. Overall it was a great stay and would happily book again for a “friends group”! The couch in the living room looked like the legs were taken off and just sitting on the floor. The back door to the pool needs to have a more day access to go out to pool. My daughter in law fell twice do to the fact the step fell off the blocks. I would have liked a mop to clean every couple days.. The front of the house lights were burned out and I called they were fixed the next day. I did call and tell her the dishes in both units were put away dirty. I was hoping for a refund for at least that. Location was great the heated pool was great but on Friday the heat seemed to be off but it rained anyway so I just let it go. This house was a nightmare! Myself and 8 other adults rented this house to celebrate my Sister's 50th birthday. The check in process was smooth. As we all out settled in we've noticed several issues with the home. The house was dirty and animal hair ( 1 guest has cat allergy thought this was a pet free home) was on the couches and in the beds. The house keeper didn't change the sheets on the beds. We had to wash the sheets ourselves in order to sleep comfortably and get a good night's rest. The downstairs ensuite bathroom has mold and rust( respiratory hazard #1)as well was water damage to the closet door. This house has roaches/ water bugs. The upstairs hall bathroom shower was clogged and overflowed the bathroom. We called maintenance. Sean showed up to snake the the clogged shower and there was all kinds of sewage coming out of the shower. Also, the showers was so clogged it cause water from the upstairs bathroom to leak in the downstairs kitchen light fixture. (Electrical fire hazard) Sean checked the light fixture and the water from the fixture spilled all over the kitchen table where we had our eating utensils. Sean l, said he needed to call a plumber to come out but they never showed up. So we were without a bathroom because the plumbing issues wasn't resolved. I sent pictures and video of all the issues and the property manager only apologized , removed the cleaning fee and turned on the pool heater. I requested a partial refund for the safety conditions but they refused. This house is listed for sale. They space is nice but as states above it's not being well kept. They present this property as if its 5 star accommodations and prices but it's 2star. They have rules and if they aren't met they will fine you for everything. 2 Star service with 5 Star standards. The worst service and acccomarions I've ever experienced in my life. I want a refund NOW! The pool is huge, and the tiki house was comfortable. The outdoor space is fun, and we spent the majority of our time poolside. It is a very short walk to the beach from the house, and around the corner from Camille's, which is a great local eatery and coffee shop. The house is great, and the pictures and description are largely as advertised. I did rank it 4 of 5 on the description because we missed it in the description that the house is really 2 separate units. We knew there were 2 kitchens, but thought there was an interior way to connect between the upper and lower level, but there is not. This made things a little bit less convenient for us, as we preferred the living quarters upstairs, but the downstairs kitchen is easier to use when doing poolside activities. It is not a big deal, I just didn't realize this was the case. 850 was very responsive when we got close to our stay and during our stay, however, they were slow when I sent inquiries about the property before and after I booked the listing.
