“Very helpful staff when we arrived to drop our bags off before we could check in. When we came back and went to our room it was lovely opening the door and having the view straight out on to the balcony as the doors had been left open to the balcony, we did pay a bit extra for the balcony but well worth it for seeing the trees and hearing the fountain in the atrium whilst reading, having a cuppa etc. Very convenient for the tram and bus plenty of places to eat. Breakfast is buffet style with……

“Property looks run-down with damaged wall and worn carpets. Old fashioned shower needed fiddling to balance from taps. Breakfast - good selection and reasonable value. Charged extra. Bed comfortable. Would rate barely as three star.”

“A convenient self-catering apartment close to the beach. A lovely welcome by the woman on reception and the cleaning staff also very nice. Kitchen area was well-equipped and the bathroom had a bath and shower. Bedroom was spacious. Only down-side was hearing the person in the apartment above us stomping around through the floor-boards! But I guess this is normal for a victorian building. Overall, very satisfied.”

“The hotel was in a great location. The airport bus stopped about 10 minutes walk away. Marks and Spencer’s, local shops, esplanade and theatre are all within walking distance. The hotel offers a good breakfast and the rooms are a good size.”

“The Room was on the top floor and was very clean. The lift help us get to our room. The staff friendly and was interested in engaging with the guests. We took breakfast each morning which had a good selection of cereals, Bread Cheeses and cold meats. the cooked breakfast was very good. Just a short walk from Douglases High street but also right on the sea front. We had a fantastic 6 day here and I would recommend it to anyone. The free food and Soft drinks in the fridge was a nice touch and was……

“The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. ”

“Exactly as anyone would hope a hotel or guest house would be with friendly staff, clean & well furnished / equipped rooms & a great breakfast.”

“The location was beautiful on the sea front and near the electric train. We rented a car for one day and we were easily able to find parking in front of the building. We didn’t eat breakfast at King’s House as we were busy in the mornings. We got fresh towels each day and a fresh supply of cookies and tea. The staff were eager to help with whatever you needed.”

“Hotel is in a very central location with a bus stop right outside and train within walking distance. The staff and other locals we met were very welcoming and the food that we sampled during our stay was of a high standard. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. Having the transport options close by enabled us to visit the various places we wanted to go to.”
