“The Sefton has seen better days. It is quite run down in places. The basement pool & fitness level smells like a sewer. There are places where the wood molding has rotted through. Many of the plants in the Atrium are half dead. Probably the most important point to make about the Sefton is that there is no air conditioning. Complicating this fact is that your room balcony overlooks the enclosed Atrium, so you can't leave your French doors open to try to cool your room, if there are any……

“The room is clean and tidy. The breakfast is good with different options. The hotel is a little bit far from the ferry pier, it takes about 25 mins to walk there. If you have luggage, you'd better call a taxi, the taxi fare is reasonable anyway. ”

“Very clean and comfortable stay. Had a beautiful sea view from my room right on Douglas bay promenade. Breakfast was excellent in terms of variety and service. Pub next door was convenient and also served food. Easy access to horse carriage and electric railway for tourist activities and sites. Bicycle friendly with a locked garage.”

“We had a side sea view room, clean and well maintained. Great room. Breakfasts good with top class ingredients. We ate once for the evening meal. The food was pricey and quality was poor. Overall a really good hotel with great staff and exceptionally clean.”

“I honestly cannot rate this hotel high enough, the rooms were absolutely spotless, the breakfasts were amazing and the staff. Well every single member of staff were pleasant, polite, courteous and helpful. The aircon was heaven sent in the heatwave, I had amazing sleep every night yet my brother in law in a budget hotel was tormented with heat. I will without a doubt stay there again and wont even contemplate looking at other hotels.”
