![Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves are partly natural and partly artificial caves of archaeological, historical and religious importance near the city of Bhubaneswar in Odisha, India. The caves are situated on two adjacent hills, Udayagiri and Khandagiri, mentioned as Kumari Parvat in the Hathigumpha inscription. They have a number of finely and ornately carved caves built during 2nd century BCE. It is believed that most of these caves were carved out as residential blocks for Jain monks during the reign of King Kharavela. Udayagiri means "Sunrise Hill" and has 18 caves while Khandagiri has 15 caves.

The caves of Udayagiri and Khandagiri, called lena or leṇa in the inscriptions, were dug out mostly during the reign of Kharavela for the abode of Jaina ascetics. The most important of this group is Ranigumpha in Udayagiri which is a double storeyed monastery. "スタッフは基本的に愛想が良く、親身になって話を聞いてくれる。しかし、残念ながらサービスの質は良くはない。 事前にメールで空港でのピックアップを予約し、先方も了解の返事をしていたにもかかわらず、空港到着時にドライバーがいなかった。ホテルへの電話もなかなか繋がらず、空港でかなり待ちぼうけする羽目になった。 部屋は広いが、水回りと床が非常に汚い。また、蚊が多い。 寺院が立ち並ぶ旧市街までは歩いて10～20分程度で、州立博物館もすぐなので、ロケーション的には悪くない。 なので、サービスに期待しない上であれば、良いのかもしれない。"

"Rooms are good with hot and cold running water, tea maker, good toiletories etc. The breakfast spread was also good. The front desk staffs were very co-operative. But unfortunately the Bar, wherein smoking is allowed in the closed AC room is not accessible to chill after hectic day. Another frustrating part is the completely empty mini bar at the room. Utility of running the mini fridge in the room is not clear, if it is not staffed with soft and hard drinks and chocholates etc."
