“This hotel is located right on the Douro, in a picturesque spot. There's a parking area right outside. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The hotel claims to be four star; it may have been once but it no longer is. The rooms are spartan. A 20" tv from the 2000s. No amenities whatsoever in the bathroom, which had a broken wall shower and between one and three lights randomly working, depending on I know what. I had to move furniture to find the only single wall outlet close to the bed.……

“We enjoyed staying in a historic place with a very beautiful view of the Douro River. Please note that the only way to get there is by car and the most convenient option is to take advantage of the dinner offered. It should be noted that there is an opportunity to taste very good local wine on site.”

“This is an unbelievable place. We have stayed in lots of different places across the world but you would do well to find a more relaxing, beautiful and unique place. The breakfasts were lovely, overlooking the valley. We loved the pool area too. The accomodation itself was spacious and had everything you needed. A special shout out to the staff too who make this such a special place. Definitely make sure you order a picnic too! Thank you for a great stay”

“Superbe vue des chambres avec un balcon sur la vallée du Douro. Une bouteille de vin nous attendait dans un sceau à glace à notre arrivée dans la chambre. La piscine est également très appréciée.”

The grounds were beautiful, the pool was great, the food was incredible, and the rooms were very comfortable. The host was excellent, going above and beyond with everything! Honestly one of the nicest people I've come across. I would highly recommend this place.”
