“We enjoyed the deck at El Refugio. The beds were also comfortable. Nice location and view of Ensenada. 4 stars on cleanliness because there were a few really dirty spots (top of glass over stove and top of fridge) where a simple damp sponge would have done wonders. Hot water appliance also failed and was tricky to get hot water. But we were able to contact on-site person and owner and everything resolved to our satisfaction (I was able to take a hot shower). “It was a bit of a distance from where we wanted to be, near the race start. Interesting location, the studio we rented was in a gated area/backyard of I'm assuming the owners home. Looked like there were a few rental options on the property. Clean and cozy studio and felt safe. Would recommend!”

“The hospitality here is top notch. Sandra and Rick are great and solicitous hosts. With the hosts' three sweet dogs, plus possible dogs from other guests, it's very dog friendly too. And the location - with the beach a couple of blocks away, and a variety of food and retail two blocks in the other direction - is sweet.The one room plus bath "casita" is compact - basically a mini-kitchen and two-person table at one end and a bed and TV at the other.
