A Beautiful Vacation Awaits You on the Emerald Smith River!

Beachfront cabin for sun and fun
This is a vacation spot you will want to return to. Our cabin is in a beautiful setting, perched above the wild and scenic South Fork Smith River surrounded by beautiful forest. The peacefulness of this river environment will linger with you for months. Relax in sun or shade on our large deck complete with nice furniture, or lounge on the edge of the river with an exquisite view of our beautiful swimming hole from the stone patio area. An amazing stone stairway winds down to a magnificent sandy beach, where you can sunbathe, wade or swim in the pristine waters of the Smith. The clear green water of this famous river will soothe your soul. Enjoy regular sightings of Dippers, Kingfishers, Mergansers, Osprey, Great Blue Herons, an occasional Bald Eagle or River Otter. Mask and snorkel open a world of small salmon and trout fingerlings, large Cutthroat Trout, and an occasional large Spring Chinook Salmon. Our cabin is a very comfortable A-frame which was completely remodeled in 2004. It features a very nice open kitchen fully supplied with everything you will need to prepare a feast. The floors are wood/laminate, with three large rugs. A large bathroom has a shower/tub combination and large sink. A nice river rock hearth holds a wood stove to warm you, with firewood provided. A nice carpeted loft upstairs has a comfortable queen size bed and half bath, accessed by a spiral staircase. Under one angled wall of the main floor is a nice sleeping bunk area with covered foam pads and storage underneath, suitable for sleeping bags for two or three. A set of three pads can be made into a queen sized bed on the floor. During spring and summer some people enjoy sleeping on the deck or pitching a tent outside for larger groups. The campfire area just off the deck is a wonderful place to enjoy an evening of storytelling. Don't forget the marshmallows! Keywords: Cabin

Beautiful birthday weekend
This cabin was an amazing escape from the world. I loved being surrounded by nature and being off grid. The cabin itself is so cute and cozy, perfect for a couple or a small family. As some of the other reviews have stated, this is definitely the type of place you will want to return to for future vacations.

Fantastic Smith River Cabin
This location is great for the natural beauty of the Smith River. We wanted to experience nature - secluded in forest and a riparian setting - as a break from the seclusion of our house and backyard after sheltering for 6 months. It fit the bill. It is a great setting and a nice cabin, well equipped and comfortable. We saw mergansers, kingfishers, and osprey fishing. Joe and Sally were excellent hosts. Although not our purpose, it is undoubtedly good in the summer with its swimming hole, rope swing, and kayaks. As the weather was cooling with the onset of Fall, we enjoyed the efficient wood stove a couple of nights and mornings. Outside communication was difficult with no cell service and WIFI available only from the main house.

5/5 Excellent

We had an amazing off the grid stay at the cabin. It was more beautiful than we ever expected. Joe Sally and Nelly were wonderful hosts - the cabin was immaculately clean and had everything we needed to cook and relax, and their recommendations on trails & views to check out were on point. We're looking forward to coming back when fishing season is in full swing!

Third visit to Jade River Lodge
We stayed over a very hot Labor Day weekend and had a fantastic time cooling off in the river. Nelly was a fantastic cabin companion for our son. They played fetch in the river for hours. The cabin has everything you need to relax, cook your meals, and star gaze. Can't wait to return again! Thanks to Sally for her fantastic hospitality.

5/5 Excellent

Redwoods Vacation
We LOVED the property and had a great time being off the grid. The location couldn't have been better. Quiet and remote, but close to the redwoods of Jedediah Smith State Park. The kids loved swimming in the river, fishing, and the rope swing! Thanks for a great family vacation.
