Come stay at this darling Historic Victorian home in Florence, Colorado. The charming Dora Lee at Pikes Peak Avenue is perfectly located and perfectly sized for all your vacation needs. This cozy property features one bedroom, a sleep-in study with a fold out sofa bed and a full bathroom. Dora Lee can accommodate up to four guests. She has a modern kitchen with all the essentials and a bright, comfy living room makes this a great space for exploring all of the attractions in Southern Colorado. Did you know Florence is known as the antique store capital of Colorado? How fun to go and explore olden treasures to take home with you! Dora Lee is the beautifully renovated lower-level unit of the home. There is an upper-level unit however, it is closed off and is not being rented at this time. You will enjoy the entire property all to yourself.

The home is located in the center of town within walking distance of shopping, dining and attractions. When you're ready for some outdoor recreation, there is plenty to choose from! Hiking, biking, river rafting, kayaking, and climbing are within a short drive.

Dora Lee at Pikes Peak Avenue is awaiting your next Colorado adventure. Many wonderful memories have been made here. We hope that you will have some too!

DOGS CONSIDERED WITH FEE:

This is a dog friendly property, however, please notify us if your dog accompanies you and the following additional charges will apply. A $30 per day/fee will be charged for your pet(s) and a $250 refundable pet deposit is required. Two (2) dogs maximum. No drooling or excessive shedding breeds, please. Weight limit 40 pounds. Please be courteous and clean up after your pet. Leashes required. Pets are welcome but please do not allow them on the beds or furniture.

Dora Lee is adorable! The Victorian house with fabulous modern updates and comfortable furnishings is a delight! We loved the fenced yard for our small dogs, porch on two sides for sun, comfy beds, couch, and a bay window seat that beckons for naps! Kitchen very well-equipped with everything we needed. Laundry facilities new and trouble-free. Right across the street from a spacious park and next door to a church. One word: Wow!

The only good thing I can say - it was clean! The bed was an old mattress on slats only and the a/c would not cool off the one bedroom. Sleeping on the hide-a-bed was better than the regular bed if one could imagine that. Walking thru the kitchen to get to the bathroom was a "downhill" walk - old flooring! The old (very small) claw foot bathtub was interesting but hard to use. When we arrived, the garbage cans were still about 1/3 full which, we added to. We put out the garbage cans as directed but no one ever picked them up the whole time! Upon arrival, had to move several limbs from both the lot and driveway. Grass (weeds) needed to be cut. Was unable to get the musty smell out during our stay! Overall, bad enough that we left 4 days early even though they were paid for. Sorry to be so negative about this property.

Better than think!
It doesnt have great curb appeal but inside is a welcome surprise. Updated where its needed. Kitchen is awesome. 4 ppl max but comfortable. Right downtown. A park across the street. Multiple restaurants within walking distance.

The property was clean and above expectations. The neighborhood was wonderful for walks and everything close by. The bed was comfortable and the evenings nice and quiet. Will definitely try to rebook for return visits.

A great find in Florence!
The Dora Lee was comfortable, immaculate, well-stocked, stylish, and super convenient. We truly enjoyed our stay and were pleasantly surprised by all it had to offer. You won't find a better value just steps away from downtown Florence, and this is a great alternative to the discount motel in town. We hope to return!

Great place to rest and stay close to downtown
The house was clean and well maintained. It is close to downtown in a good location, with a fenced area for dogs. It needs some landscaping care and a grab bar in the shower. This is a simple fix that would make it perfect.

First the door was incredibly hard to open! You have to have both hands free to turn the knob and lock at the same time. The house smells like fish when we walked in. I had to go to dollar store to buy a candle before I could even take off my shoes. There were lots of flies in the house. My husband killed about 10 on our first night in the house. The towel rack in the bathroom fell to the floor when I touched it. There were no blinds in the kitchen so no aspect of privacy. The yard was overgrown. It was nice to have a secure fence so our fur baby could do his business.

Great location to walk downtown to Florence. Very well appointed property, fully stocked with everything one would need. The bright sitting room was my favorite. I spent an entire afternoon reading in there. Lovely place. Would stay there again.

Good locations for a get away
We entered this property with issues. No kitchen water. Went into the property and the head was not keeping up to the temperature outside, I will say it was cold out but 58 inside is not warm enough to be comfortable. When oil heaters were brought over on the second day they tripped the circuit breakers to the master. Laundry room not heated at all as well. Nice updates to the house just not a great option in the winter.

Walking Florence
Let me start by saying Florence is a great little town! It's full of history, old architecture, antique stores and plenty of choices for dining out. All within walking distance of the property! The Dora Lee is itself a architectural antique! Gorgeous hardwood floors, tall ceilings and I fell in love with the claw foot tub! We were close to town yet seculded with plants around the fenced yard. Making it nice to sit outside of a morning for coffee. We loved it!

Colorado Adventure with our Grandchildren
Perfect for our stay - cute Victorian House! Our grandchildren (age 11 and 14) stayed in the sunroom which was nice for them. The location was near everything we wanted to do - went to the Royal Gorge Bridge, ate dinner on the Royal Gorge Railroad train, and went Whitewater rafting on the Arkansas river. We had a blast! Thank you!

The home is an upgraded Victorian style beautifully decorated. Loved the window seat that just begged for time with a good book. It was obvious that someone had given consideration to the comfort of the guests while maintaining the authenticity of the building. Was very happy to see the shower in the old fashioned free standing tub. Great internet service and kitchen wonderfully stocked. The town of Florence is peaceful and safe and an antique lovers dream. Everyone was friendly and greeted with a smile. Located within a few miles of the Royal Gorge and amazing scenery and hiking, white water rafting, zip lining, and many other fun things to do. We had an amazing time and would definitely visit again.

We rented this property based on proximity to Colorado Springs and other tourist locations. The rental was very nice with washer & Dryer along with central Heating & AC. We enjoyed the classic house feel. Floor plan and size was perfect for our family of three. We were slightly confused with arriving about parking, but past our initial confusion everything was nice. We found there are limited restaurants open in Florence, with some being closed on some days, but we enjoyed all the restaurants we visited and all were within walking distance. Canon was about a 10-15 minutes drive away and it offered additional restaurants choices. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Clean and well equipped house
We have stayed in a lot of rental houses over the past year and this was absolutely one of the better ones. First, it was clean and tidy and not filled with a lot of extraneous knick knacks, which we really appreciated with our toddler. Second, it was well equipped with items in good condition - plenty of towels, well equipped kitchen with pots and pans, etc. Third, it had central air conditioning - we've been traveling for 2 weeks in hot Colorado and it was so great to have central air, when we stayed in places without any AC or just window units. Also there was laundry. I can see the owners put time into considering what to provide in the home and it made the stay pleasant and helpful. Last but not least, while this isn't located in Canon City itself, it's quite close by and only a 15 min drive away to most activities, with the exception of Royal Gorge which is 30 min. If you're visiting, try Nirvana for some of the best Indian cuisine in the states, seriously!
