Casa De La Luz (the house of light) offers the "best of both worlds"! The beach and ocean across the street, while the large backyard offers refreshing, unobstructed marsh and river views from the screened in back porch. This 3-bedroom, 2 full bath, beach house can sleep up to 8 guests. You are only steps away from premier beach access - 2 houses down and across the street is the public beach entrance. Driving up you will be greeted by ample parking space for up to four vehicles surrounded by palm trees. The porch swing/bed with overhead timer-controlled lights is a wonderful spot for relaxing. Front screened porch has 6 chairs (and more provided in storage under the home). It is the perfect spot for coffee/tea & warming up with the morning sun, the sound of waves in the distance. COZY FLOORPLAN Stepping into this coastal home you will find an updated kitchen with a gas stove and other high-end appliances, along with bar seating and a breakfast nook. Kitchen is fully stocked, including grilling utensils and plenty of serving dishes. Keurig and traditional coffee makers (filters provided) are available. For convenience and easy beach packing there is an additional refrigerator and freezer under the house in the laundry room area. The kitchen opens out to the living room area, where there is a sleeper sofa, recliner, loveseat & a large TV with streaming. Enjoy direct access to the front screened porch via sliding glass doors. The living room has a Bluetooth speaker/record player that allows you to connect to it from your device or play some records that are provided. Head down the hall to find 3 private bedrooms. Use the 2 full bathrooms and the outdoor shower to easily get your entire group ready for a night out in Folly or Charleston, or to wind down from a fun day spent on the beach. The bedroom at the back of the home is set up with a standing-height table & mirror that provides a secondary area outside of a bathroom to get ready. The bedroom, with bunk beds, has a full-size bed on the bottom & twin-size bed above. The TV in the bunkroom allows guests to enjoy a secondary show or movie apart from the main living room. The second and third bedrooms both have queen-size beds and closets for hanging clothes. The primary bedroom has direct access to the screened porch at the back of the house. GRAND OUTDOOR SPACE Enjoy just as much outdoor living space as indoors. Lounge and dine on the large screened-in porch overlooking the river and marsh, accessed via the primary bedroom or the exterior wraparound porch. The spacious backyard is your private retreat, featuring a fire pit for evening gatherings and a small dock on the marsh. Just a couple things my bedroom needed small bedside tables. The closest was full of stuff and there wasn’t anyplace to put my clothes. Only the bunk room had a dresser. But our experience fell short of expectations. Little things add up, thick mold in one of the showers, kitchen pans old,scratched/burnt, screens on porches ripped from bottom so they just blow in the breeze, outside railing/decks have mold/dirt all over, downstairs laundry/storage room dirty. Back dock was very nice and peaceful. Kitchen had many useful amenities. As many others have suggested, the house is in need of many updates. Couch cushions were almost flat and very stained, beds were very wobbly/noisy, outside chaise had many stained and old, bed pillows were flat. Someone needs to go through the chairs / toys in the laundry room too, many are broken or completely rusted out. Closet storage was compelled full in the bedrooms, no place to put clothes. We loved the excellent sunset views of the marsh. Sitting on the dock was one of my favorite things all I needed was a mosquitoes candle to keep the bugs away. Loved the views of the lighthouse off in the distance it truly was beautiful! The screened in front and back porches was where we spent most of our time when at the house. The town of folly was great everything you could want in a beach town. Small game room, restaurants, shops, and a pier for fishing. We had an excellent time and already planning on a second visit. The beds are a little worn in but after long days we didn’t mind much. Plenty of towns provided for everyone! And the kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need. May 22, 2024 #### Peaceful beach vacation The location of this home is awesome! It’s steps from the beach and the back overlooks a marsh. There are also multiple outdoor living spaces which we thoroughly enjoyed. I only had two issues. First, the dishes had been put away dirty (which would be the fault of the prior renter though I’d think housekeeping would check). Second, we hauled our kayaks here only to discover that it would be extremely difficult to put kayaks in and out of the water. The drop from the dock was considerable and if you could manage that, you could only kayak at high tide as there appeared to be many dry spots during low tide. Very clean with comfortable beds and furniture and cute decor. Loved the screened in porches - the back porch was an excellent spot for sunset dinners!
