Lovely country pub,spacious clean room with lovely big bathroom,really comfortable bed.Had a lovely evening meal, the waitress was really helpful and got our order in quickly after giving us the heads up that there were a lot of large parties in that evening and ordering promptly would be beneficial,food was amazing and good value. Breakfast the next morning was a wide choice and the hosts at the property were brilliant.Would definitely stay again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

I have just stayed at The Fighting Cocks for the weekend. Unfortunately we choose the weekend of the A31 closure and the New Forest fires! Resulting in a lot of traffic passing the pub. Not their fault. The staff were very helpful and friendly the room was great, clean and comfortable and breakfast was included and really tasty. We had an evening meal on the Saturday which was ample and reasonably priced. All in all a great little stop over.

Beautiful location, very friendly staff always happy to assist, included breakfast freshly made, tasty and on the high standard. Dog friendly. Room pretty clean and seems recently refurbished.

Room very clean & tidy looks like a recent refurbish which was very well done , the only thing was the mattresses could do with renewing , which is the only negative thing to say about our stay was able to help ourselves to tea ,coffee etc when needed . Could not ask for better staff , nothing to much trouble for them to do , very good choice for breakfast , never went out hungry also very good menu all round with a good choice of drinks at the bar , will definitely stay again and would highly recommend this place

Fantastic venue, location, breakfast and staff. Could not have been kinder or more generous with their hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble. Linda (Lin) who was front of house was awesome.

We had a great stay here. The room was quiet and spacious, with plenty of storage plus a table and 2 bucket chairs as well as a dressing table and chair. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom was bright with a good sized shower including a rainfall as well as a shower hose. The breakfast was also excellent. The staff were helpful too.

Lovely pub stay in a great location

Really lovely stay .Room was modern decor but with a bit of character and very clean. Dog friendly so easy to relax and great location with walks into the new forest right outside the door. Food was great …both the dinner the night of our stay and the big cooked breakfast. Great value for money and we will definitely try and go back again .

Great hotel, nice staff, good food.

The hotel is ideally situated at the edge of the New Forest. The staff - especially the manager - were very helpful and nice. The room had been freshly renovated and was spacious, great towels, nice bathroom and nice view onto the landscape. We also had dinner there and it was really delicious.

We recently stayed at The Fighting Cocks and overall had a really enjoyable stay. The staff were absolutely excellent – friendly, attentive and genuinely helpful. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and they did everything they could to make our stay a good one. Our room was a good size and spotlessly clean. The only real downside was the heat – the rooms were unbearably hot, which made sleeping difficult. Unfortunately, the cattle grid directly outside the hotel also meant that every passing vehicle announced its arrival with very loud noise so between the heat and the traffic noise, we didn’t get much sleep! We ate in the pub and the food was really good, with absolutely enormous portions – definitely arrive hungry! And then there are the donkeys… 😂 Having donkeys casually wandering around outside the pub is certainly quirky and very Instagram-worthy. In photos: adorable countryside charm. In reality: surprisingly loud, slightly smelly neighbours who are a bit overwhelming 😂 They definitely add character though, and it’s certainly a stay we’ll remember! Overall, a lovely quirky pub with fantastic staff, good food and clean, spacious rooms – just pack some earplugs.

Gorgeous pub with beautiful room

Gorgeous room, clean, big and very pretty interior. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay. The breakfast is cooked to order and was very good and they were very accommodating for our toddlers needs. Our toddler loved the playground and the outside garden was perfect to sit until late in the evening.
