The room was great, a little lacking on the basics, (soap, shampoo, etc.) but great views and comfortable. Great for 2 people. Nicole with “Check In Vacation Rentals” was great and helped us out a bunch!

The rod to hang clothes on broke and fell to the floor with our clothes on it. We only had one lamp in the bedroom that worked. The sitting room only had one light it was too dark to read. It was very windy and so much cold wind came in around the patio door the curtains were blowing. The tv’s could be larger.

The property is an older condo with some charm. I was not able to plug the drain in the tub for a bath. There was a large crack on the large mirrored closet door. Otherwise, the condo was quiet cozy. It had a beautiful view of the bay. All of the essential were provide. There were some strange quirts about the resort itself. They have the rules posted in the elevator and they asked you not dispose the recyclable in the trash chute, but they did not provide a recycling recepticle anywhere on the premise.

Beware

First, there is tons of construction and won't be done until after the first of the year, the noise is terrible and we were not warned. Second the mattress in Unit 401 is like sleeping on a 30 year old spring! The newest piece of furniture in the condo is the table and that is at lease 10 years old, the rest looks like it is from the 70's early 80's. The sliding door has to be lifted to go out to the deck, and the private beach and or view is porta potties and construction materials. We were told we had a discounted rate and they gave us less that what it cost us to go buy a air mattress. You are not supposed to have to get parking passes, but they are standing outside the elevators when you are getting out so you will need to get one, it is also on the list of rules in the elevator. Last but not least, when you go to check in the ladies don't even know their own island, we asked about a grocery store and they both told us their was not one on the island, there is one 2 miles from their office! Please take my advice and do not stay at this location until the first of the year and don't stay in Unit 401 at all, this is at least a $400,000 dollar condo that has not updated anything. The furniture at goodwill would all go for less than $500. I spoke to other agents that rent there and they canceled their clients or gave them a huge discount to stay for the construction.

Too many codes to remember, one for the gate one for the main door and one for your room. Our first day someone pooped in the pool and in my opinion the pool wasn’t cleaned at all. We keep watching the pool from our room and never saw it cleaned. And it was open the next morning. It was a nice unit, we were just grossed out by the pool and never swam in it again.

Recommend

Vacation in May, very quiet and peaceful. Pool and hot tub closing from dawn til dusk. Beach and water was fantastic!! Dolphins and manatees were sighted. Restricted to guests only was awesome!! Recommend definitely.

The location is great and the view is even better. The private beach is beautiful and watching the dolphins every day was a bonus. The bed was very comfortable and we used the grills every night.

Amazing view from the balcony. We could admire beautiful sunset from the comfort of our room. Very nice, clean beach with white sand. Apartment is not prepared for the gusts who arrive for a short time and travel by plane. There is no cleaning services, but yet there is no cleaning supply. With the exemption of Windex and a few dishwasher tablets there was nothing else, not even a broom or a mop. There are two very old vacuum cleaners and none of them was working well. Three beach chairs and two of them were completely broken. When we called Vacation Rental office they brought us two dollar store chairs not even a beach chairs. Broken beach umbrella, broken drying rack on a balcony. We had no place to dry our towels. Very cheap bathroom and beach towels, again they look like from the dollar store. Providing a decent supply for the renters should not be very expensive, considering the rent is quite expensive and the owner could invest a few dollars in a quality towels.

Couldn't get into the room using the numbered keypad! Had to call the Emergency number since there was no Front Desk, and the young lady showed up within 10 minutes and managed to finally get us into the room! The next morning she was there with maintenance at 8:00am and proceeded to put in a new keypad mechanism! Other than that it was great!

We liked the private beach. The pool area was nice and the lobby/common area was very nice. We picked this place because it said they furnished umbrellas, chairs and beach towels. There were only 4 umbrellas and most days we weren't able to get one as they were reserved early. The beach towels were skimpy and no bigger than the cheap white bath towels they used.

Loved the location and view from our balcony. Kitchen stove and fridge were nice. What I didn't like about our unit was that in many respects it was outdated - TV (screen was like 15 in.) way too small, my home computer had a larger screen. Carpet was outdated better if it had hardwood floor (at check-in lady told me the owner will be changing floor this coming Sept- Oct) too bad it was not before. Bathroom needs upgrade but was clean and spacious. The lock to our unit was still using key and had hard time opening and closing it each time we went out (other units had keypad locks)

Best Location near the Gulf of Mexico.

We stayed in 1108, on the 11th floor, gulf view, February 14 to 21, 2018.. This building went up in 1984, among 2 other high rises nearby. Surrounded by water and green areas, the Lovers Key State Park will keep this easternmost part of this island as pristine as it is now, hopefully forever. Evidently, all of the units in this building are single bedroom. The kitchen is lacking size and counter prep space in 1108. This unit has not been used by the owner in a long long time. Strictly for rental and income purposes, as we could tell by lack of updating and general repairs, mostly cosmetic. There is a stained and un attractive queen sized pull out couch in the sitting room that should really be replaced. There is really not enough room here for more than 2 people. But the location can't be beat, and we have been to several luxury condos and resorts in the Fort Myers Beach area, usually Gulf front, over the years. The condition of the common areas is superb. Pool, semi private beach on the bay, landscaping, lobby seating and lighting, even a quest laundry. The Lovers Key Beach Club is gated, mostly appreciated by older folks, who can be surprisingly friendly and helpful. It is very peaceful here.

Very nice condo, directly next to the State Park. The nearby restaurant “Flippers” has great food. Very nice place for those seeking for calmness and being out of the crowd.

Didn't spend a single night here.

I booked this during the aftermath of Hurricane Irma since we had no power for 4 days. The day I drove down to check in our power came back on. Because it was booked on Orbitz it was a week stay non-refundable. I find this policy unacceptable since we were in a federal state of emergency. It's too bad for someone else could have used it since we never spent one night at the apartment.. I'm out $1100 and feel I was taken advantage of during a state of emergency. I find the non-refundable policy unacceptable. The room smelled bad and the closets were filthy. The sliding doors need attention and the room smelled bad. The blinds were old and broken and the room had an aura of neglect. It has great views, but I'm glad I wasn't able to stay there.

Nice hotel with a few drawbacks

Hotel itself is neat,clean and quiet. If you want a quiet place to stay, this is it. The room was clean but dated. The tub was very slow to drain so that as you shower, you were in ankle deep water. The tv was small and the two remotes required to operate the tv had no instructions. The kitchen area was fine except that the refrigerator had a slow water leak inside. The bed was neat and clean as was the rest of the room.Nice view from the balcony. We had plenty of towels supplied by the staff during our stay. The bars of soap were the size of postage stamps.Shopping carts and luggage carts are supplied at the entrance. Also the facility is gated so you need a password to enter which was nice. Also, the hotel entrance is also password protected.

Don't Stay at Lover's Key Beach Club/Flamingo Inn

Checking in was easy this time. I've stayed before and I was happy but this time the room was dilapidated, run down, and unclean. The room wasn't service daily unless I called late in the day (usually 5:30) to complain about it. The bathroom had tiles falling off, some woman's black hair in all the drawers, and the shower was disgusting. In all fairness I have stayed here before and I had a nice experience, but the run down room (603) over looking the bay does not excuse not having the room serviced daily. The beach was unkept, last time is was dragged every third day and kept clean. I'm only stating the facts and nothing more. Therefore I will not being booking this beach club again. This could be an awesome resort if they just didn't cheap out on the things that matter. Getting towels daily and a bed made is the minimum standard in the travel/hospitality industry. The pool area was infested with biting fleas, and my kids and I are torn up with hundreds of bites each. We honestly looked worse leaving than we did arriving.

Don't waste your money!

The pool are was infested with fleas, the room wasn't serviced unless I complained and beach area wasn't kept up at all. Stayed last year and it was awesome but this year truly sucked on every way possible.
