“Just a heads up for English speaking travelers, that only one peraon who worked there spoke a little English, which is understandable but just an fyi. It made check-in a little difficult. The shower did not really work. I was only there for a day. It is nice for a more rugged kind of place. A little run down, but unique. The people where nice and helpful despite the language barrier. Again, I am not saying the people who live in rual Costa Rica should know how to speak English of course, but……

“The location and property are absolutely beautiful! Incredible views! The grounds are kept meticulously! The rooms are clean and neat. The rooms are simple and yet elegant at the same time. The staff were very forgiving of my limited Spanish. A little harder to get to but worth the drive. The restaurant on property was excellent. Just a small sidenote… There was no air conditioner in my smaller room. I knew this going into it and the nice breeze that was almost constant.”

“We only stayed one night when travelling through, but wished we would have had more time to enjoy the horse riding and ziplines. The dinner and breakfast was prepared for us by wonderful staff, and they catered for vegan, vegetarian and carnivores in our family group, including our 2-yr old grandson. We enjoyed the pool and waterslide during our brief stop, and enjoyed walking around the property with company from the very friendly (but not in your face!) dogs. The only very small thing is the……

“It's a beautiful spot overlooking the mountains. The chalet was well equipped and a fantastic use of space. We would highly recommend it. The only suggestion would be to cut back the trees off the upstairs balcony so that you can see the view better. ”

“Wonderful simple cabins that are reminiscent of Costa Rica of the past, with very kind helpful hosts. If you’re looking for a quiet clean escape into the cloud forest, this is the place. We were so happy to see all the hummingbirds while we enjoyed the excellent coffee and fresh fruit juice in the morning. The private trail was a moderate hike to a gorgeous waterfall and was a great taste of the beauty of the area without the crowds of Tenorio. Our 6 year-old loved seeing the red-eyed tree……

In the day we saw many birds. The little side kitchen was nice, and the hostess cooked very good breakfasts of local food, much of which they grew. This was one of our favourite places we stayed in CR. ”
