"Excellent service and hospitality as always"

"It's a lovely place, nice room, basic and small but served our purpose. Very firm matrases, closer to hard. Good English breakfast but not much else. There were 2 issues only. One is that in a twin room you can't really use a wardrobe, it's very tight spacing and it just doesn't open as the bed is next to it (you can't move the bed either, no space). And at 7.00 fire alarm went off in our room. That seriously disrupted my sleep and turned out to be something in the kitchen. No one even went down...

Nice stay nice pub nice staff although and I booked this B&B on the reviews I read (only the top 4 when viewing) if I had seen more reviews on the fact that they didn't do breakfast unless you book directly with them I would of chosen somewhere else. Also noted when leaving/checking-out the property you do so via the night entrance which the stairs down are very steep and you must be very careful if you have heavy or a large case with you. All that being said I did enjoy my stay."

"Check in - quick and efficient. Room - great space, tastefully furnished, great size bathroom with excellent shower. Breakfast - fantastic choice, cooked to perfection. "Listed building so it was a novel experience. My toilet was down the corridor and I had a bath but no shower. Owners were very friendly."

"Lovely room and amazing shower. A few things that would improve overall visit- the green emergency light above the bedroom door casts light into the room all night and really impacts sleep for people who need a dark room? It was rather like having a nightlight you could not switch off. Would also be nice to have more than one towel and a mirror in the bedroom to dry hair. Comfortable bed but I didn’t sleep well due to the light issue unfortunately "

"Fantastic place. Lucky enough to find The Fox after being let down by The Running Horse and were delighted. All the staff particularly Annie & Liz (at breakfast hope I got the right name) were absolutely brilliant. The room was superb - huge, every possible convenience & spotlessly clean. "We stayed here for two nights while attending a service at the church. The owners are charming and nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation was adequate for the two nights, we found it difficult to maintain the heat balance in the room and it was fairly chilly in the pub , the good food and atmosphere made up for this. "

"The hotel looked lovely but unfortunately we didn't get to stay. Turned up to find hotels.com had not passed out booking into hotel so left with nowhere to stay in remote countryside. I'd recommend the eco lodge - staff were lovely but not hotels.com -it took almost a month to get a refund only by going via my bank's anti fraud process."

From the helpful directions provided by our host in advance, the welcome upon arrival, the booking made for us at the local pub, which served great food, the lovely quiet cottage accommodation and comfortable room, to the excellent breakfast in the morning. This is a lovely, dog friendly B&B located well for access to a no. of local attractions and the area. The property could do with some maintenance but this didn't detract from an otherwise...
