  • Summary: The nearest public beach access path begins about a two minute walk from Rock House and crosses the dunes to the sand. This beachside home sleeps up to 10 registered guests and offers a covered wraparound deck with partial Gulf views, a fully fenced pet yard, 500 Mbps WiFi and a dedicated workspace.

    The Space:
    - Bedroom 1: one king bed, smart TV and storage.
    - Bedroom 2: one queen bed and smart TV.
    - Bunk room: two twin over full bunk beds.
    - Bathrooms: two full bathrooms, one half bath and a hot outdoor shower.
    - Living area: open plan seating, board games, smart TV, Apple TV and streaming apps.
    - Kitchen: appliances, Keurig and drip coffee makers, cookware, basic spices and breakfast bar.
    - Dining: indoor table seating plus deck seating for outdoor meals.
    - Laundry: full size washer and dryer.

    Guest Access:
    You’ll receive a unique lock code for self check in. Early check in or late checkout requires advance written approval and is charged at $20 per hour when approved. Park up to two vehicles only in the designated rock driveway. Do not park under the house, on the grass or on the street. Boat or trailer parking requires advance written approval and confirmed space. A nearby public boardwalk crosses the dunes to the beach.

    The Neighborhood:
    Rock House is on the quieter beach side of Surfside. Off season stays are well suited to fishing, bird watching, remote work and local community events. Nearby options include Seahorse Bar & Grill, Beachfront Deck Bar & Grill, Surfside Jetty Park, Swan Lake and Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge. Lake Jackson is about 10 miles away for groceries and shopping.

    Other Things to Note:
    - Bath towels, linens and basic starter supplies are provided. Please bring beach towels.
    - Up to two cats or dogs under 50 pounds each may be allowed with advance approval. All pets must be declared before arrival and applicable pet fees apply. Service animals are handled under platform policy.

Home away from home

Great location and great accommodations. The covered deck is awesome and location near beach is prefect. Close enough to walk. Very clean and with a great yard for the dogs. Overall A+ experience.

peaceful place

Very clean plenty of room for everyone very muchly appreciated all the TVs. Everyone was able to enjoy their favorite TV shows all the beds was very comfortable we enjoyed all the furniture and decorations throughout the house would definitely come back and stay here again and recommend it to my friends

Great location

Less than 1 block from the beach. Walking distance to restaurants. Liquor store right around the corner. Unit is furnished with everything you need. We picked up three bags of great sea shells. Love this place!

Quick getaway

Great location with view of the Gulf. Home was well appointed with everything that you would need. Property Manager was easy to reach and responded very timely. We will definitely come back.

Great place to stay

This place was amazing! Loved the view and access to the beach. Very nice and relaxing place to stay. The house was lovely and very clean. Sitting outside on the deck was my favorite part about the house! Listening to the ocean feeling the breeze and watching all the birds. Very nice fenced in yard for my fur babies to enjoy although the smell Yorkie was able to escape through the gate lol she couldn’t get enough of going to the beach and for walks and the community. I will be recommending this place to others and I will be back. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Family and pet friendly.

Rock House is great for families and pets. They have a large fenced area for the dogs to enjoy the outdoors and a gate at the top of the stairs to keep pets or even children from leaving the deck. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The beach is a short walk down the street and over the boardwalk. The nearest boardwalk does have stairs so it's a bit tricky with a wagon or stroller. It's just as easy to drive to the beach as well. We were very happy with our stay.

The Rock House

The house itself was great, very nice furnishings and clean. The yard was great for the fur babies and the deck was good. However there was no laundry soap, no dishwasher soap, no water in fridge, no drinks, no coffee pods as this was all in the information that was sent me. Had issues connecting to internet and trouble getting the code correct. Will I book this property again, no I will not stay here again.

Last minute summer trip

The house is great. Clean, comfortable and well stocked with what you need. Easy access to beach with short walk and also close to vehicle access roads. No complaints, only a few suggestions. Maybe time for a new refrigerator. It doesn’t cool that great. Also the front door doesn’t click shut, it only pulls to unless you lock it.

Great Place!!

We stayed for a few days with my family. Everything was nice and clean as advertised. The only complaint that is out of the property managers control was the water. At first the water had a foul smell to it. I ran a reset on the water heater to hopefully flush out the bad water but it didn't help. The property manager mentioned the local water has its ups and downs. Showers weren't the best and everyone brushed their teeth with water bottles. At the end of the day everything was fantastic and nice minus the water dilemma. Property manager was very responsive and respectful.

Rock House Visit August 2023

The property was as described. We enjoyed our stay there and found the beach was just a couple minute walk away. The kitchen had the items we needed. Owner had a regular coffee maker delivered as requested though it arrived on day two. The couch and the beds were comfortable along with the central air conditioning and fans. A PVC pipe disconnect of the water supply was addressed and fixed by maintenance quickly after our call for help. One issue on the downside was the fact that both toilets had flush components in the tanks, that needed to be replaced. We had to fix the toilet flush mechanisms several times during the stay. Overall, we enjoyed our vacation at the Rock House. Thank you Johnny.

Location couldn't have been more perfect. We loved the deck and the captains' chairs for slow mornings with a nice cup of coffee and a book. The bunk bed room received rave reviews from our kids too. We will definitely be coming back!

The time and ease to get to the beach was great. The king size bed was comfortable but the queen was to hard. The appliances and air conditioning worked well. Some of the pots and pans need upgrades (especially cookie sheets). Overall we had a great time.
