"The building is amazing, dating from the 15th century, it looks fantastic from the outside and the public areas are lovely and well maintained. Unfortunately I can't say the same for my bedroom, where the wallpaper was splitting away from the walls and ceiling in many places indicating damp issues, or at the very least that it hasn't been redecorated in a very long time. The TV didn't work (no signal) and the bed was painfully hard. Despite the delightful features, I wouldn't recommend this hotel sadly."

"All felt very dated. Walls and floors all paper thin, could hear everything from folks waking at 6am, with the addition of construction work right outside the window at 7:30am. Rooms, whilst clean, were basic and tired, and far too warm with no ability to adjust temperature. Pay and display parking (with no guest discount) is a bit odd too. Not sure what grants this a 4\*, but it certainly isn’t. Get what you pay for. "
