Enjoyed my stay, I think I should have gone for a bigger room, my single room was devoid of character , no plug in the sink, shower control was not in good condition. The hotel itself is lovely, friendly staff and delicious meals, would definitely stay there again.

Set right in the centre of the City, a great place to stay. The floors are wonky, but then after 500 years that's to be expected and it has great character. Second time I've stayed there. It's so convenient and full of history. Love it.

Five stars for old and charming. I've taught about the use of coaching inns in play production during the Tudor period. I'm from California, so it was very exciting to see one in person. I recommend the best room--the Oak. It's reasonably priced and will make you feel as if you are in a period movie. The New Inn is well located for seeing the Cathedral, which is unusually rich in history and warrants a guided tour. The bar carries a very good selection of beer.

Cheap room so what do you expect. Get what you pay for. I booked midweek so meet up for a friend in Gloucester for a curry & a few drinks. Room adequate & fine for the price, but not somewhere to bring a partner!

The inn itself is lovely and the staff were so accommodating! That said, it’s a medieval inn and does NOT have any air conditioning despite being advertised as such by Expedia. I would highly recommend it to anyone unless it’s a heatwave as it was when we were there. The staff said they’ve been fighting with two booking sites (not all) who advertise it has a/c as Expedia did to take it down as it was not originally in their description and amenities and causes problems for their guests.
