I have been pondering long and hard before writing this review. My wife and i planned this trip well over a year knowing that accommodation in Grenanda for the carnival was difficult. We went in search of a hotel in January to beat the rush for the August festival. Pickings were slim, all hotels booked, meaning now only guest houses would be available. Lo and behold this property appeared and was a bit pricey, but promising. We were excited, city stay, great views and close to all the events. The host was very warm and accommodating, something we discovered was a trait of the Grenadian people, and the money non -refundable so we ignored the immediate reality. The moment we saw it we knew, this was not what we were accustomed to or expected, but remained humbled by the fact that we came to party and would only need a bed and hot shower. The room was noticeably small for just the two of us as moving around required some thought and planning. The view was non existent, we were more on display for anyone passing in the street. The word claustrophobic was constantly spoken. Day three, after a long day at the beach, returning and expecting that hot shower……no water. Having some experience myself in the hospitality, rental property business, i understand and respect the owners vision, but, bottom line, this business is about return repeated customers, referrals and good memories. Had the price of >$1600 USD, been halved even, i might have chalked it up to “you get what you pay for”
