We just spent 2 weeks at Lucrezia’s cottage in Panzano. The property was immaculate and in a beautiful setting overlooking the valley and hills beyond. The view is breathtaking. The cottage itself it tastefully decorated, comfortable, and has a reasonably equipped kitchen where we prepared most of our evening meals. There are three bedrooms, two with ensuite bathrooms. Access to the bathroom from one of the upstairs bedrooms was the only concern for us as we were two couples, all in our 70s and needed to navigate the stairs during the night. The third bedroom is on the main floor and is small, but it does have a bathroom ensuite. We loved the terrace which provided the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening wine.
The village of Panzano is a lovely 2-mile walk. Note that it’s worth going on Sunday for the market which has great produce and other novelty items. The local CoOp grocery store had everything else we needed for our cooking adventures. We even bought fresh cheese from the farmer on the next lane over.
We recommend this property to others who want a cozy cottage with spectacular views and a central location. The parking was convenient and paths easily walkable. We used this spot as our starting place for visits to Florence, Sienna and the countryside in general. Lucrezia was a most delightful host who shared with us some of the property’s history. Our stay was at the end of October and first days of November so we did not use the pool, but it, too, is beautiful and would be wonderful in warmer weather.
