Front desk man was nice. Breakfast was pretty good, had scrambled eggs and sausage gravy with biscuits alongside with the usual toast, bagels and fruits. Pool looked a little rough, but had no plans to use it anyhow.
Perfect spot for those on a budget. Amazing, friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Perfect for our weekend. Clean, spacious, ac worked great. It was a busy weekend so shower water temp cold on 2nd day only. Everyone getting ready at same time. I understand. Good value for what you get.
For the price we paid ($37/night) I can’t say enough about the value. The staff were all friendly and great and the room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good for a free hotel breakfast (the typical cereal/yogurt/waffle machine/toast/juice/coffee plus scrambled eggs and biscuits and sausage gravy). The man who checked us in and seemed to be the main staff person was very friendly and competent. I would stay here again anytime I’m in Grinnell. The pool whitecoat could use some help (there are patches in it which look unsightly) but that doesn’t make a pool unsafe (I’m a certified pool operator so I know) but if the pool is important to you that might be one reason to stay elsewhere.
Only a $20 pet fee which was very much appreciated. Designated pet rooms had no pet odor which was another great plus!

Positive: Staff was very friendly.
Negative: Our room smelled like smoke even though it was a no smoking room. There was a bug in one of the beds, a spider in the shower & mildew stains on the bathroom ceiling. We ended up deciding last minute not to stay the second night & just drove home through the night.
Will not stay here again.
The room is clean. The front desk staff is very friendly and ready to offer help any time. Breakfast is good, not that many options but solid - I can find everything I need. This hotel feels a safe place to stay. Will stay again.
Close enough to grinnell college. The fridge was making a lot of noise had tv issue . Staff fixed the issue. No phones in the room to call front desk. Breakfast room was small so since a lot of people staying it was crowded . For the price I paid it is what it is. If you are disabled make sure u don’t get a room in second floor . Because no elevator at this location
