It’s part of a network that includes 1,600 acres (640 hectares) of parkland, so you don’t need to venture far from List to experience tranquil leafy glades. Also known locally as the “Grüne Lunge, ” meaning “green lung,” Eilenriede really does add a breath of fresh air to the busy city streets.
Rest your legs after your walk with a visit to the Lister Turm Biergarten. This authentic-style beer garden has a wide range of lagers to quench your thirst while you take in the view of the Lister Turm. The Lister Turm is a building dating from 1895 with many decorative features. The large tower is a copy of the original one dating from the 14th century. Say “prost” as you clink your beer glasses together and look back on a great day in List.
