What was surprising to see was the proximity to the Amtrak train tracks and the frequency of the train traffic. This was not mentioned in the description of the property and created an unexpected racket throughout our stay. Additionally the microwave breaker had to be reset, the hot water in the upstairs shower did not work (though the homeowner offered to send someone to address) and the coffee maker needed a thorough cleaning. Again, the owner was responsive and this is a nicely decorated property with a few flaws that need resolution, along with a more accurate description of the train track proximity. It was so clean!!!!! The house is decorated adorably and everything was very clean and organized. The cottage was decorated beautifully. The beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed for our morning coffee and for preparing food. The back yard was very spacious, with a deck that had a grill, table, and chairs, and then another “deck-type” area down by the river. There was also a fire pit, and a nice supply of wood. There were two shopping centers nearby, and plenty of places to eat. There is a train nearby that passes by a few times throughout the day and night, but you barely even notice it. The home is adorable. Wonderful view of the river from the back yard. My 17 year old son loved having a small fire in the fireplace and roasting marshmallows.
