Pet - Southern England

We had an amazing stay at the Stable. Jan and Nick are lovely hosts, and gave us a good head start into our vacation. They had prints ready where to find the shops we were especially looking for. Besides, they do a lovely farm, birds in the morning, no traffic noises, horses, cows and a pair of donkeys. In short, We Loved IT!

Another fabulous stay!

Just wish we could stay longer. The property is just a brilliant place to stop and relax but with plenty to do nearby. We felt able to let our children (6 & 9yo) go into the woods by themselves to play, which is such a joy for all concerned. Highly recommend this property.

Our third visit - we love the peace and tranquillity here and spend much time watching the wild birds coming to take peanuts from the feeders. The accommodation is excellent, comfortable and well equipped and with a lot of character.

Perfect Spot for Rest & Relaxation

Absolutely delightful in every way - hosts engaging, property exactly as described and very homely, location just want we wanted in terms of getting away from it all and the added bonus of cows who always seemed pleased to see us. Thanks to our hosts for setting up the wood burner which was an absolute treat - much needed after a very muddy walk in the woods!. Will definitely be looking to visit again.

A fantastic cottage in beautiful surroundings

The cottage is bigger than it looks in the photos. Everything is clean and bright, and it has all you need, very well equipped. Plus a nice welcome gift. Comfy beds, sofa and super shower. Watching the local wildlife in the garden was a delight and we were stargazing from the veranda as there is no light pollution. A real gem of a place.

A beautiful and secluded retreat in the gorgeous Sussex countryside

We had a lovely stay at The Stables. The property is very comfortable, clean, and stylish in design. Lots of interesting history to the area. The hosts are great and extremely helpful and we arrived to snacks and a complimentary bottle of wine. We really enjoyed watching the wildlife which included a range of birds, bunnies, squirrels and the odd badger. Very reasonably priced and we would thoroughly recommend. Thank you!

Peaceful, nature friendly cottage.

We were after a short break in the area away from the city life and this was the place. The wildlife is just amazing on your doorstep and the local walks are really good too. It was lovely to sit out in the garden in the evening and hear only the wildlife and watch the birds in there abundance on the feeders. Everything you could need at the cottage is provided. Jan & Nick are close at hand if you ever need anything and are easy to talk too.

Beautiful location

The stable was much bigger than the photos show & was veer clean & spacious with everything to hand. The owners Jan & Nick have thought of everything. The garden & woods are lovely, we were lucky to be there with the bluebells in full bloom. Enjoyed seeing all the animals including horses, rabbits, squirrels & lots of different birds. The stars are amazing when the night sky is clear. Lots of places to visit, we went to Rye, Hastings, Canterbury & Bodiam Castle.

We had a fantastic stay in the Stables. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. There were two bedrooms, one with two single beds and the other with a double bed. This one had also an additional en-suite bathroom. Very nice. The kitchen, dining room and lounge were all proper sized. There were some games and duplo for the children and some dvds. The cottage lies in a very calm area on a farm surrounded by fields and woods were you can do some very nice walks. There is a nice patio where you can enjoy the evenings or you just leave the patio doors open to have an outside-feel in the dining room. We liked this very much. There are horses, guinea pigs and much things to explore for the children. The next pub is only 10 minutes by foot through the woods, but you need a car to reach the next bigger supermarket. I recommend the one in Rye.Going to the cottage can be a bit tricky, when you are not used to single road lanes, especially in the summer when the fern grows. I recommend driving from the south. The way is a bit longer, but the single track road is much shorter. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and did notiss anything. Also the hosts were really friendly and helpfull.

Perfect In Every Sense

What can I say, we had the most delightful stay at The Stables. A completely relaxing retreat for the whole family. The location is so peaceful and tranquil, where the only sound you’ll hear is from the birds flying back and forth to the bird feeder. Jan and Nick made our stay really welcoming by leaving us a selection of treats to start off our stay, which included a lovely bottle of wine – thank you guys 😊. Their abode was super clean, comfortable and cosy; with plenty of room for the four of us. Lovely hot water and all the kitchen necessities required for our stay. We will all definitely be visiting The Stables again; the perfect get-away to get the creative juices flowing and some real quality family time, without gadgets!! Thank you so much for having us 🙏
