Log Home in a Peaceful Wood in Jim Thorpe

Ski-in/ski-out access for fun in the snow
Enjoy this clean, private, modern log home on 11 wooded acres, @3 miles from the center of the town of Jim Thorpe, the final resting place of James Francis Thorpe, perhaps the greatest athlete of the 20th century. The Cabin on Dew Drop Drive comfortably sleeps up to 8 people, but with enough space both inside and out so everyone can find the privacy they desire! Relax on the leather couches by the remote-controlled gas fireplace, or lounge on the sunny front porch while keeping an eye out for hummingbirds, turkeys, deer and the occasional fox or bear. Enjoy s'mores around the fire pit, and hike the woods in season to forage for wild huckleberries and blueberries. Send the kids out to play in the "tree house" (a mere 6 feet off the ground).

You'll stay just a couple miles away from the Jim Thorpe Memorial, and you'll have easy access to the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway, white water rafting on the Lehigh River, bicycling and hiking in Glen Onoko State Park, swimming and fishing in nearby Mauch Chunk and Beltzville Lakes, ski resorts (Jack Frost/Big Boulder, Blue Mountain and Camelback), historic sites, art galleries, concert venues, wineries, restaurants, bars and shopping. And at the end of the day, retire to the Dew Drop Inn, our Irish-style pub downstairs!

All linens and towels are provided, and you'll have access to plenty of puzzles, toys, art supplies, card and board games, a diverse selection of movies on DVD, and even a bit of exercise equipment. The kitchen and laundry room are fully equipped for your use, and WiFi is free.
Air-conditioned accommodations at this vacation home offer fireplaces and DVD players. Kitchens offer refrigerators, stovetops, microwaves, and cookware/dishes/utensils. Bathrooms include shower/tub combinations.
Recreational amenities at the vacation home include ski-in/ski-out access.

Relaxing getaway
Enjoyed our second visit to the log cabin and plan to come back! Beautiful home, easy to feel at home and relax, and the basement was fun for all. Easy drive to skiing for the day. Our only trouble was ice on the roads in the neighborhood as we were leaving, so be prepared for winter weather conditions!

Amazing Home
I booked this property for my sister's 30th birthday celebration with two of her girlfriends and it did not disappoint! The house was so clean when we arrived. Wayne was a very responsive host and provided instructions for the rental and also suggestions for places to go in town. The bar in the basement made the house. We spent most of our time there - we really didn't even need to leave! The house had everything you can possibly think of and then some. Will hopefully be booking again at this rental!

A Cabin with Character
We loved staying here! My family of 6 adults spent 2 nights in late October. The first evening we made supper in the well equipped kitchen, then we hung out downstairs in the amazing “Irish pub”, playing darts and foosball and practicing being bartenders. In the day we got a bike shuttle and rode bikes down the Leihigh Valley trail, then explored the historic town. The second evening we cozied up by the gas fire and told stories in the dark. The house is very clean, well organized and full of pleasant surprises. I would recommend it for families and groups of adults, but might not recommend for people struggling with alcoholism (there is alcohol on the premises), or for children with hyperactivity (too many interesting knickknacks) or for people who can’t walk on uneven ground. Perfect for our family and we plan to return.

Perfect place for us
We were in town for a wedding and this was the perfect place. Myself and 2 dons snd family stayed with 2-5 year olds. They had a blast outside looking at the deer snd chipmunks! Loved this house, will stay again!

Best weekend of my life!
This property is absolutely magnificent. I've never been to the Poconos and THIS was the way for me to see it. I came overprepared with pots/pans, electronics, etc. but NOTHING was needed. The cabin was fully stocked with everything I could imagine and need. We were never in destress of something that we needed or wanted, because it was there! The Pub was AMAZING. It was basically a museum and legit Irish Pub. I've never been more blown away such a bar, decor, and subtle details peppered all throughout the place. I am now sober but envision having a bar just like this in my future home for entertaining my family/friends. Wayne was extremely communicative and responded to all my inquries promptly and answered all my questions and provided recommendations and suggestions anytime I had any questions. I cannot begin to even explain how amazing every aspect of this cabin was and it would take a lengthy essay to address everything. But for starters: the kitchen was amazing, entertainment area was plentiful of devices and speakers, the beds were the comfiest beds I've slept in; the deck and grill were super useful; the location was PERFECT and central to everywhere we had to go (paintballing/whitewater/market/restaurants); and again, the BAR WAS EPIC!!!! I will for sure try to come back to the Poconos and cannot think of a better place to stay. Even if there is one, I have fond memories of this place and wouldn't trade it for the world. This place is marvelous and I hope that more people are afforded the opportunity to enjoy this place.
