I’m honestly not sure how this place has received so many 5-star reviews. For the price we paid — about CAD $350 for one night — we expected a much better experience. We arrived late, around 9 PM, and there wasn’t even a bottle of plain drinking water provided. The only water available was flavored/mineral water, which isn’t suitable for everyone. The bedding was wrinkled and didn’t look freshly pressed, which I personally find very unpleasant because it makes it difficult to tell whether the bed has been freshly prepared. Overall, many things felt rather basic and inexpensive considering the price. The “lake” was also disappointing and looked more like an overgrown pond than what we expected from the photos and description. The biggest issue, however, was the noise. Guests were sitting around the fire talking late into the evening, and there was also considerable traffic noise from the nearby road. We came here specifically to rest, but unfortunately we weren’t able to get a peaceful night’s sleep. If the room had cost around $100, I would have adjusted my expectations accordingly. But at CAD $350 per night, I simply don’t think the experience or level of service justifies the price. One last thing that surprised me was seeing a request for tips for the cleaning staff. In a country as wealthy as the United States, and especially at this room rate, I would expect employees to be properly compensated by the business rather than guests being asked to supplement their wage

Its a very nice place, seems like it was updated recently. But those upgrades need maintenance. The master shower faucet isn’t mounted properly so the handle and cover plate move around whenever you use it. There’s a hand towel rack that needs to be remounted because the wall anchors are falling out. There front storm door is falling off the hinges and it doesn’t have pneumatic door closer so its constantly swinging open. And they advertise that there’s a pool but i was never able to access it. Other guests told me they were given a passcode but I never received one. Tried speaking to someone from Avant stay team but no one ever called me back. And there’s no one on site….. no security person at the front, no one in the office building did not see one staff person the entire week. But it was clean and they had decent WiFi.
