I booked last minute for a cycle event in the area, the directions were easy to follow, if you screenshot them as advised, phone signal is poor to non existent (bliss) The Meadow View Hut is clean cozy and well appointed, the fire burns very warm so one of the provided logs at a time. If you can’t be bothered with the hassle of the fire, the heating is plenty on its own. Falstone is a great staging post for Kielder Forest, and there’s plenty of adventurous things to do near by, endless walks and off road cycle trails. Thanks Posh Huts!

Made to feel unwelcome and unwanted

Arrived late after several days hiking. No signage for PoshHuts so had to ask for directions, no key so had to ask for that too; brusquely (and somewhat rudely) told about key lock mentioned in booking email (hadn’t seen this beforehand). No food available anywhere nearby at such a late hour (8 pm!) so had to drive half way to Newcastle for something to eat. Enjoying our self-catered breakfast next morning we were rudely informed (again) that checkout time was imminent (10am) so could we vacate promptly! (Check-in is at 5:30pm so they apparently need 7&1/2 hours to flip the room!) Made to feel unwelcome and like unwanted intruders with each interaction with the owners. This spoilt what could have been a pleasant overnight stay. I wouldn’t recommend this place if you expect even a little genuine customer service and/or a relaxing time.

Small but perfectly formed! Large comfy bed, hot powerful shower, lovely peaceful location. Glad we chose woodland view rather than meadow view as it felt more secluded and tucked out of the way. Great spot for exploring Kielder!

Look up at night.

Bring citronella candles/torch if you come in the summer (the winged critters are happy to bite human when sheep isn't available). This was a really pleasant evening's stay during our bank holiday trek across northern England. We chose this place for the dark skies, so don't forget to look up. The local pub was friendly, served good pub food, and the deceptive Old Rosie cider. I think we may try one of the barns next time; but there will be a next time.

Quirky & Cute

Shepherd hut with all mod cons .. Large powerful shower, cute kitchen & king size bed with your own little garden! On the doorstep for Keilder, local pubs within walking distance... Perfect!!
