"At first I was reluctant to stay at this hotel, because it is older (I believe we stayed there with our kids 25 years ago) and the room doors are on the outside. I generally choose hotels where you go through the lobby to enter your room. However, my husband and I were pleasently surprised at how clean it was, and the beds and sheets were first class. Why chose a more expensive hotel to get the same quality and service. I would definitely stay there again."

"This place is adorable, and the location is outstanding if you have activities planned at Lookout Mountain! There is no staff on site however, they are very responsive and frequently check-in. As an avid traveler, I think it’s extremely important to share my full experience and why I rated the way that I did. First and foremost cleanliness should be top of the list in any lodge, hotel, or rental property. I will keep it simple and say that I had to clean the room before I felt comfortable. There were dead bugs in the floor, coffee stains on the counter, and hair was in the bed linens upon arrival. Some of the photos are misleading because they make the room look much larger than it is. The room that I was in should have comfortably fit two people, but I would recommend this to a solo traveler. There was no living or sitting space in the room only. There was one backless chair that was very uncomfortable. Otherwise, you had to sit on the bed. They’re only small trash cans provided in the room that won’t even fit a takeout box and I cannot locate a larger trashcan on the property. We fortunately had a large box in the car that we could leverage for trash. The bathroom is very small and the shower even smaller. If you are a larger person, it is likely that you will not fit in the shower at all. I did experience a pretty major issue during my trip, and I will say the staff did everything within their power to make sure I was taken care of. I do appreciate that very much."

"I can't say much about the other rooms, but #228 had what I hope were water stains on the ceiling. The room smelled of wet dog—like an actual dog—because I assume previous tenants had a dog in the room. The AC unit made a loud ticking sound, making it hard to sleep after driving for hours. And breakfast seemed to be first come, first served."
