About this property

Inn at High Falls

  • Welcome to our home! It is a farmhouse that features an open floor plan that is perfect for a family get together or weekend reunion. There is It is one of three self contained units on the property with a private deck and shared yard. The master bedroom and bath are on the first floor and two bedrooms and bathroom ond the second floor.

    Our home is served by a private artisan well drilled into the local bedrock. This area naturally contains sulfur in the rock, which means our water has a mild sulfur smell and taste. After periods of heavy rain, the water can temporarily pick up a bit more sulfur as it filters through the ground - this is completely normal for wells in this region.
    The water is safe and is fine for showering. It is also safe for cooking and drinking but bottled spring water dispensers are provided in each unit. Most guests tell us they stop noticing it after the first day or two. And we have an extensive water system to treat water specifically that contain sulfur to minimize the effect.

    We wanted to mention it up front so you know exactly what to expect!

The house looks unkept and quite dusty. The kitchen sink has a broken piece that looks like the repair job was a cheap one. It makes it look dirty. One of the overhead light in the kitchen kept on flickering so it was quite annoying since we spent a lot of time in the kitchen. One of the side lamp in the front bedroom was also flickering. It was impossible to read in bed. The bathroom upstairs was very dark. The hallway light was missing a couple of bulbs. - The sulfur smell from the water was very strong that it smelled like sewage water. The shower head in the primary room could use an upgrade. At one point in the middle of the night, there was no water at all coming out of the faucets. -No A/C in the primary room. The fan noise level was so high that we could not sleep. -Several of the roman blinds are broken. - Lamps are dusty. - The pantry looks like things were just thrown in there. - The sofas were so old that we sank in when we sit down in the middle of the sofas. - A nicer binder for the house rules & recommendation would be nice.

Cozy cottage on a busy road. Nice backyard for the dogs, and access to a beautiful property across the road with fields they could run in. Frank is a very responsive and thoughtful host. We were very comfortable in the main floor bedroom suite.

Perfect size for family, plus 2 dogs. Location convenient to everything we wanted to do. Decent sized yard for dogs to get out.Had to replace batteries for tv remote and it would still not turn it off and on. Water pressure could be better in master bath.Overall great for our particular needs on this visit.

Lovely weekend in the Catskills

This was our first time in the Catskills. We were happy to find a dog friendly house. The house was clean and comfortable, with great light. It did advertise that there was a grill, but it was not usable. The house’s furniture was a bit dated.

Convenient Location, Nice Property

We had a nice stay at the Inn at High Falls. It is a beautiful setting. Everything was good and it is definitely well equipped for longer stays than ours. There were a few things that need to be fixed. The diverter on the master bath room did not work well so the shower was very weak. Because it is a soaking tub it would have been helpful to have grab bars to get in and out and something to make the tub floor less slippery. Also, the dishwasher was not bolted down well. All in all, our stay was flawless and our communication with Frank prior to arrival was excellent.

Family Wedding

It served its purpose for 2 nights. Lighting was poor. One lamp in living room didn’t work. Overhead lights in kitchen were not compatible with dimmer switch and just flickered annoyingly. Kitchen plates and cups seamed none existent. Pots and pans were old and in need of replacing. Master shower was terrible with a single stream, no pressure and also very slippery. One of the sofas had cushions that sunk into the coach. Time to be replaced.

Beautiful house

This house was exactly what we needed for a fun friends event. We planned on cooking and found enough equipment for the job. The beds were comfortable. The living room and kitchen were enormous, plenty of room for our decorations and activities. We were 15-20 mins from all of our outings including hikes, Robibero vineyard, 2 cider houses, and downtown New Paltz.

Girls Weekend

Great Girls trip! We had plenty of room to spread out and a cozy living room to relax in. Loved the big table in the kitchen, fire pit outside and the quiet. We plan on returning with our guys for a couples trip. Good location for Mohunk spa and Hiking. We enjoyed New Paltz 15 minutes away.

Exactly what we needed.

We had a wedding in New Paltz inconveniently on graduation weekend. All hotels were booked, and this was our closest option. Place was awesome, but we didn't spend much time at all enjoying it as we were busy with wedding things!

Lovely getaway

Super cute and cozy getaway. Lots of space for the family to spread out. Comfy beds and we ewre grateful for the extra blankets! We really enjoyed some family time, despite the rain.
