“Hotel Steenhuyse was a very nice place for me to stay on my cycling trip to Flanders. Bart was a great host. He even sat and had a nice chat with me at breakfast. My room was very large, clean, and well-decorated. Breakfast was a buffet with a variety of meats, breads, pastries, and cereals. As a cycling fan from the U.S., I couldn't recommend a hotel more than this one. It is a few steps away from the Tour of Flanders museum, and a short ride from the famous climbs of the Ronde. “We stayed three nights at this hotel. It was an easy walk from the train station (10-15 minutes) and close to many shops and restaurants. We arrived about 90 minutes before check in and were told that our room was not ready (understandable). We weren’t offered the chance to store our bags with the hotel while we waited so we had to drag around our suitcases for a while. “Die Betten sind für mich leider zu weich, das bin ich anders gewöhnt. Eigenartig, dass man die Fenster nicht mal auf Kipp stellen konnte, somit konnte ich mein Zimmer nicht lüften. Es gibt jedoch eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer. Sollte ich ein zweites Mal in der Gegend sein, würde ich mir ein anderes Hotel lieber buchen.”
