A beautifully located, well-maintained hotel with friendly, accommodating staff. Nice to see old school traditions can still be found in establishments like Sherwood Inn.
We were amazed at all the old trees that were growing on the property. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. All and all we had a very relaxing stay.
From the warm welcome, to the serene and well kept grounds, to the inviting beach and dock complete with Muskoka chairs....the whole experience at The Sherwood Inn was top notch.
We will definitely go back again next year. We all love the place and the amenities. My family really had a wonderful stay. Thank you

Showing it's Muskoka age the resort is a great place to unwind. our room was clean and updated, however it's path to the entrance was showing its age in algae, overgrowth and a somewhat unappealing entrance.
The lodge hasn't changed since our last visit and the meal was delicious with a great server.
Overall with a little tender care it could be restored to its original charm

This is our 4th time and noticed that the property is starting to show improvement. The interior was nicely painted. The food is delicious!! Compliments to the Chef! Just needs paint and gardens could use some attention. Otherwise, what a marvellous place. Good value. Thanks so much.
Beautiful resort and friendly staff. The restaurants are nice too.
The carpets in our room are dirty. A bit noisy from the neighbours. Overall it’s cozy and fun.
We came for our 5th anniversary celebration. The hotel had very warm and welcoming employees. The rooms overlooking the lake were beautiful. The grounds were well maintained and it was great having access to onsite hiking trails, the kayaks and canoe for no extra cost.
The restaurant was ok. It was really great to sit on the dock or enjoy the fire pit with marshmallows provided by the hotel. This was a lovely summer getaway!
Clean room with great sized balcony overlooking beautiful lake. Property is amazing and very well maintained. Restaurant breakfast was very good and even the public washrooms even the reception lobby were super clean. Highly recommend!
Great staff. Clean rooms. Beautiful place to relax for the weekend.

The food and food service was excellent as was the front desk reception and check out. There was a lot of items in the room that needed maintenance and the property is looking a little worse for wear.
This place was a solid 4 stars, though the beautiful grounds, beach, and scenery deserve 5 stars. This is a heritage property and though there is a dated feeling to the furnishings, we found it gave a charming atmosphere and a nice throwback as a rustic northern resort. The cottages and rooms are simple and not modern, but the cost of staying here is pretty reasonable for such a spectacular location on the breathtaking Lake Joe. Other places nearby would have been $500 more for our 3 night stay. The restaurant food was pricey, but we find that's everywhere in Muskoka these days. Our meals were creative and tasty, and still significantly cheaper with better service than a "fine dining" restaurant meal we had in Port Carling. There was live music on the patio and we enjoyed our meal with great entertainment on a warm night as the sun set over the lake. We were invited to stay to enjoy the musician's second set, then had a stroll around the property, enjoying the view from Muskoka chairs at dusk. Sat at the fire pit after dark and the smell of the firewood in the smoker by the kitchen was amazing. Free coffee in the lobby each morning and we'd brought our own local pastries for breakfast so we didn't try their morning buffet. We kept simple charcuterie lunches in our mini fridge to have before relaxing on the sandy beach and floating in the warm water of the bay on pool noodles all afternoon. Good towel service, and lots of pickleball and kayak/ paddleboarding going on.
