Opposite MURGIANO stands a historic, 15th century Medici Villa, which has been a residence venue for the Owner’s Family since 1641- private events occur in its beautifully frescoed reception rooms.
Villa MURGIANO’s Guests are usually met by Caterina (Katia for short).
She owns the adjoining FATTORIA DI MEZZOMONTE, i.e., the farm estate where Wines, Grappa, Extra-virgin Oive Oils, Aromatic Vinegar, and Honey are produced in total compliance with Tuscan tradition.
Villa MURGIANO is approx. 4 km from the villages of Gràssina and Impruneta – both feature groceries, green-grocers, ATMs, pharmacies, restaurants, and supermarkets; Impruneta is world renowned for its terracotta handcrafts.
Villa MURGIANO sleeps up to 10 Adults & 2 teenagers; the latter simply love the tower Bedroom with its additional split-level and view. The adults have a choice of 4 Bedrooms each with its bathroom en-suite, and 1 twin Bedroom with an adjoining, large 5th Bathroom, shares with the Tower Bedroom.

All 6 bedrooms are airconditioned and there are electric ceiling fans 4 of them. All the windows come with shutters, to screen the daylight and control temperatures - the traditional and current manner to keep the Summer heat out or the Winter heat in.
The majority of windows have discrete mosquito nets and there is a generous provision of electric anti-mosquito devices.

Villa MURGIANO dates back from the 15th century: Terracotta roofs Tuscan style, restful beamed ceilings, thick fire & quake-proof brick walls. Some of the indoor walls are plastered and white-washed, others interestingly display their natural facing.
Wi-fi operates all over so far on a combination of optical & copper fibre - a real challenge in such ancient architecture.
The Bedrooms and upstairs Loggia feature light coloured parquet floors; the day- rooms are typically in Tuscan-style polished Terracotta.
There are 2 electric awnings for additional comfort: one runs along the front, to dimmer the glare in the upstairs air-conditioned Loggia, the other one protects the West French door and the living-room from excessive sunshine.
The Portico is a perfect exemple of Renaissance architecture, with its charming Romanesque arches and ancient, round domed Pizza Oven. A Portico ideally suited for your evening meals in Summer and your lunch-time Winter snacks.
The following is an even more detailed description of the text above, should you wish to read any further.

It also leads through a double door into the spacious front Loggia: dinner table for 8, walls w/beautiful engravings, casual lounging furniture, TV & card/chess-playing table, large sofa, 2 bookshelves replenished with art books and, needless to say, charming views.
The large & cozy Winter Kitchen has a hearth with damper, and two Carrara marble topped tables with 8 chairs. It comes with ceiling fan and air con unit to make your Summer cooking classes comfortable.

Down the ancient flight of 11 steps is the cloak-room for coats and golf clubs, next to the main entrance to the Villa. under the staircase is your electric dryer - a machine easily dispensed with under the Tuscan sky - you can hang up your washing directly on the outdoor lines (pegs provided).

TheSummer "crowning glory" to me is Villa MURGIANO's large, private swimming-pool, open from late March to late October, with a landscaped hedge all around and 2 admission gates. It feels good to glance at it from the upper floor windows, it is a refreshing sight when you sip your evening drink on the terrace, and something to look forward to while you visit your sights; for you remember how good it feels to dip into its immaculate water, and how well its overflow edge blends into the landscape's green hills beyond. Before entering the pool is a nearby sun warmed shower stand, while on the pool's gazebo table lies a basket with Towels.
Adjoining the Pool area is the children's playground with 2 swings.
Adults please monitor your children (under twelves cannot play in the pool area unattended). Adults also please ensure that pool gates are properly closed at all times.
