From Iwami, it's about 80 miles (129 kilometers) to the southeast to Kobe and 90 miles (145 kilometers) to the southeast to Osaka.
Don't just limit yourself to Iwami, because this region has a wealth of man-made and natural attractions just waiting to be explored. Yabu, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the northwest, and Toyooka, 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the west of Iwami are also waiting to be discovered.
While you are on vacation in Iwami, don't forget to head to Kyotango. Approximately 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the east, this regional city is home to Shizuka Shrine, Kumihama C. C. And Yuhigaura. Goshiki Beach Park and Gosyo Inaba-honke are some more points of interest here that should be on every visitor's list.
