Love the location and the size of the room. It’s right in front of the first attraction and you just keep following the street and you will see the next few attractions within minutes. The shower pressure is good although the bathtub is too high for me to hop in and out because I am short. Wish they have a mini fridge in the room. Overall I recommend this hotel.

First, this comment applies to all hotels in Ghent, if you are traveling in the summer time and you need AC, I highly recommend calling ahead your hotel and directly point blank ask if they have AC. I speak from a bad experience. And by AC I mean your room will not be cooler than 68 degrees Fahrenheit at best (or 20 to 25 Celsius). Now regarding, The Ghent River Hotel, this hotel has AC in each room which is a must in the summer time. The hotel is in an excellent location. You can walk everywhere. However, beware that you need an Uber or Taxi ride, these ride shares might not be able to reach you depending on the hotel location. The Ghent River Hotel is right at the end of the allowed area. We stayed in a 3 bed room that was very spacious and clean. The overall state of the hotel is that while modern, some things are outdated. For example, the elevators are very cramped and slow. The rugs in the common hallways are outdated. Some walls could use some maintenance and in the rooms the furniture is early 2000s to mid 2010s. Also, bring your charger or wall plug in connector as there are no modern USB charging stations in the rooms. also, beds are rather hard so if you are expecting a soft bad beware of this. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. So this made up for some of the other details that were not as polished. Overall it was great value for the cost. As a family, we would stay again at this hotel and would recommend.

I had a truly excellent stay at Juliana — the overall level of comfort, attention to detail and service is exactly what you would expect from a refined luxury property. The room, spa and overall atmosphere were outstanding, and the breakfast in particular deserves a special mention — one of the best I’ve experienced, with fresh, high-quality products and great execution. I would also like to highlight the concierge team, who were consistently kind, attentive and genuinely welcoming — a great asset to the hotel and a pleasure to interact with throughout my stay. If I may share one small observation, I believe the cocktail bar experience has the potential to be elevated to fully match the level of the rest of the hotel. With a slightly more structured approach, it could become a real highlight. Overall, a fantastic stay and I would absolutely return.

Great location, easily walkable to many sites. Nice, vibrant restaurant downstairs. Loved the hotel dark blue walls and colors. Overall, good. We would stay there again. The 1st floor communal coffee machine was not in working and this was disappointing. There are coffee pods in the room, but no takeaway cups. The bathroom needed more shelf space for toiletries and needed ventilation.
