Beautiful property with pool and garden. Staff was kind. Room was spacious and clean with private indoor and outdoor bath. Amazing stay overall. Highly recommend. We will be back again in the future.

Maybe the best hotel experience I've ever had. Room was amazing, with an onsen overlooking the sea. Shared onsens also available at the property were fantastic and provided a moonlit soak in a secluded grove. The staff was the picture of hospitality - warm, accommodating, and endlessly helpful. Dinner and breakfast were exceptional. Will be back for sure.

The room was fantastic. We loved it. The beds were so comfortable and the view was so beautiful. We used the onsen and it was magical because we had a full moon. The bath products they have for the guests and the onsen user are the best smelling shampoo, conditioner and body wash i have ever used in my 51 years. Very clean room and attentive staff. We enjoyed a half board each day and were met with an exquisite multitude of Japanese traditional foods and delicacies. The surrounding town is quiet, and uber/taxi is available for travel. This is an amazing experience to immerse yourself in Japanese culture, reset, and unwind. Our favorite part would have to be the onsen.

Beautiful, charming and peaceful onsen stay. We enjoyed delicious authentic meals and truly unique onsen facilities. Wonderful hospitality, you feel like you have stepped back in time. Perfect if you’re looking for a relaxing and authentic cultural ryokan in Japan.

It was AMAZING! My friend and I stayed for one night and it was the highlight of our entire trip in Japan. The food was incredible, the staff were extremely nice and helpful and attentive. And of course the onsens were immaculate. Everything was top tier, would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a classic Japanese experience but with modern comforts and breathtaking views!!

This was a lovely place to spend a short scuba diving vacation on the Izu Peninsula. The ocean views from my room were fantastic. The room was spacious and comfortable.

Having stayed in a plethora of ryokan over many years in Japan, this is one of the best experiences I've had so far. Wonderful staff, excellent food and character galore. I'll be going back.

Wonderful stay at Ryokan Kikuya. It's picturesque, with the stream running through it. Impeccable service, attentive yet discreet. Situated at the heart of Shuzenji Onsen town, one can go on short or long walks with interesting sites to visit.

There isn’t much to do nearby, so it’s really a place to relax, enjoy the onsen, eat, sleep, read, and unwind. I highly recommend booking the half-board option since there are very few dining choices outside the hotel. We had a room with a private bath, which was wonderful. However, the bedroom was upstairs, and I didn’t feel very safe using the stairs at night. I wouldn’t recommend this type of room for families with young children or anyone with mobility concerns. Absolutely lovely. Felt like I was staying with family. Quick walk to the gorgeous beach, next to a beautiful shrine, and a short walk from a delicious Ramen place. Not to mention the Onsen!!! What a magical experience it was to enjoy the outdoors and soak. And last but not least the breakfast! Felt like my mom made me lunch for the day. Absolutely would recommend to anyone staying in the area.
