"Our room had a terrible smell. I told the desk person and she said they had one room left and it was a higher price. She wasn’t trying to fix it. I didn’t push it, but it was so disturbing to smell that gross odor. I was afraid I smelled like it. A simple fix was to change our room."

"This hotel opened its restaurant at 5 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, for breakfast for guests who were booked for a train excursion that boarded at 7 a.m. What excellent service. We talked to other people who had stayed at other local hotels and were told that some hotels did not alter their hours to accommodate this important event (the train ride to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States). Kudos to the Doubletree in Newark, Ohio."
