With a spacious layout, modern finishes, and plenty of natural light, this apartment offers a comfortable and inviting space for short-term renters. You'll be surrounded by the area's best spots, including 1848 Bakehouse or Social Grounds below, where you can enjoy delicious coffee and pastries, Crispy's pizza just across the street, and a variety of local breweries. This apartment provides the perfect mix of urban convenience and historic charm, all within walking distance to the best dining, shopping, and entertainment Springfield has to offer. It is a great spot for someone traveling to Jax for events at TIAA Bank Field / Dailey's Place, for business downtown, small groups, service members on TAD, or visiting family members. You’ll book for the central location but will quickly fall in love (just like I did in 2005) with this vibrant, diverse, up and coming historic district! The Space: Spread out in this large 2 bedroom apartment complete with a full kitchen, separate living room room with sleeper sofa, and 2 large bedrooms with king and full-sized memory foam mattresses/beds. There is ample storage including closets in the entryway, bedroom, dining room, and kitchen - so this unit is perfect for longer term guests looking to spend several weeks in the heart of Jax. The unit also has an in unit washer/dryer that is perfect for longer term guests . Guest Access: Guests have access to the entire apartment with the exception of one locked closet that I use for storage. You do share an atrium on the 2nd floor of the building with a few other apartments. The Neighborhood: Springfield is amazing! It is a diverse, vibrant, up and coming neighborhood located just north of Jacksonville's downtown. You'll initially fall in love with the gorgeous late 19th/early 20th century houses but you'll want to stay for the amazing people. Join a First Friday party, check out the weekly Main Street cruise, downtown's Art Walk, Porchfest if you're in town in the fall, or one of the yearly home tours. This apartment is also literally within the St Patty’s Day block party area - so it’s a fantastic spot if you’re in town visiting during that event! A few recommendations: Restaurants Crispy’s for great pub food and phenomenal pizza is across the street from you Wafaa and Mike’s Cafe for delicious Mediterranean food is a few blocks away Tommy’s for Springfield’s famous $3 breakfast in a cup is a few blocks away Sweet Pete’s for amazing food and sinfully delicious sweets is about a mile walk from you downtown Coffee Social Grounds coffee shop for the best (not joking - seriously amazing) locally roasted coffee in Jax is right beneath you! Drinks Hyperion - craft brewery is less than a block away 6th and Main - craft brewery is 1 block away Getting Around: This part of Springfield is very walkable with multiple venues within a short stroll. Jacksonville's central bus station and the Skyway are both approximately one mile to the south. I recommend renting a car if you're going to spend any time outside of the "Urban Core" portion of the city. It is approximately a 30 min drive to Jacksonville's beaches and a 45-60 min drive to St Augustine and Fernandina Beach. It is only a 15-20 min drive to Jax Int'l Airport and is right off of I-95's 8th St exit so is perfect if you're flying into or out of JIA. Other Things to Note: To help ensure a smooth, secure, and enjoyable stay for all guests, please review the following important information before booking: Check-In & Identity Verification Policy All reservations require the primary guest (the booker) to complete a secure online check-in process prior to arrival. This includes: \-Uploading a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID \-Uploading a selfie to confirm identity \-Reviewing and signing our rental agreement This process is similar to hotel check-in and is required because we do not typically have staff on site. Check-in instructions will only be provided once this process is complete. If you would like to review the rental agreement before booking, please feel free to contact us. In some cases, we may also request a security deposit and/or apply a damage waiver fee in accordance with booking channel policies. Guest Count & Occupancy Policy Each listing includes a maximum number of guests based on unit type and local regulations. Additional guests are welcome for an added nightly fee: \-2 & 3 bedroom units: $35 per guest, per night after 4 or 6 guests, respectively Please ensure your guest count is entered accurately at booking. We will confirm the number of guests after reservation. If the guest count changes, pricing may be adjusted accordingly. For safety and compliance purposes, exterior security cameras are used to verify occupancy. Unreported additional guests may result in additional charges. Pet Policy This is a pet-friendly property. While our cleaning team is thorough, guests with severe pet allergies should be aware that dogs, cats, or other animals may have stayed in the space previously. Pet fees: $30 per night, per pet $150 per week, per pet $300 per month, per pet Pet fees are included in the accommodation rate as long as you choose the appropriate quantity of pets when completing a booking. We confirm this with all guests post booking confirmation. Local Reservation Policy Reservations under 7 nights from guests residing in the local area may be subject to cancellation at our discretion. We handle exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Early Check-In & Late Check-Out Policy Early arrivals and late departures are not guaranteed and must be approved in advance. If approved, the following fees apply: \-Up to 1 hour: $100 \-1–2 hours: $200 \-2–3 hours: $300 \-3+ hours: $100/hr or the cost of an additional night (whichever is greater) Please do not assume availability without confirmation. Smoking Policy Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property, including indoor and outdoor areas. If evidence of smoking is found, an additional cleaning fee of $500 will be applied in accordance with the booking channel's cleaning and damage policies. Special Request Policy Requests for items such as pack-n-plays, high chairs, or other non-standard amenities should be submitted at least 7 days before check-in to ensure availability. Requests made closer to arrival will be accommodated if possible but cannot be guaranteed. We understand that this is a detailed list, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to review it. The place was clean, the appliances were good. The kitchen ware could use upgrading, the bath and shower were good and always plenty of hot water. The couch in picture is not what was there. Very worn and uncomfortable. The carpets always smelled musty. Definitely needs upgrading. The VRBO agent was great though. The place was a perfect size. My friend and I had our own bedrooms and had plenty of space to lounge and relax. The coffeehouse downstairs was super convenient as neither of us used the kitchen to cook up anything. It was a very quick stay, almost like a hit and run. The only downfault was that the cleaning service was not as thorough as it should have been. I found dog food from the previous guests throughout the apartment. I notified the owner and they quickly offered someone to come and reclean the floors. Once upstairs we felt safe and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. There was an issue with the shower door but the owner was easily contacted. A lot of great information in the binder and recommendations for the area.
