About this property
Private, Oceanfront Views, Great WiFi, Timber Cove
This gorgeous 2.5-acre property sits on a private oceanfront point and the home was constructed so that every room takes advantage of the sprawling ocean views. The open concept living, dining and kitchen spaces are spacious to accommodate a group of six guests.
Bedrooms include a main suite with a Cal King Bed and two additional bedrooms; one with a Cal King Bed and one with 2 Queen beds. Each room features an ocean view with windows that open to the sounds of waves crashing against the rocky coast. All of the bedrooms also have their own private patios.
During the day explore the tide pools from your own private beach. From the property you walk down a gorgeous rock staircase to reach the water.
In the evening, relax in the outdoor hot tub with views of the Milky Way and shooting stars. Or take a midday dip for endless ocean views. The living room features a plush sofa and wood burning fireplace for ultimate relaxation.
The gourmet kitchen is complete with commercial grade appliances and all of the cooking essentials. Dine in the intimate breakfast nook or take your meal to the dining room with a massive built-in marble table.
Soak in the warm California sunshine on one of the two outdoor patios. Sunrises are best viewed from the Southern patio and watch the sun melt into the ocean from the Northern patio.
Choose to disconnect to reconnect with friends and family with hiking, wine tasting and beaches all close by. The house is also stocked with puzzles and games for lazy day activities. Bring your iPod or music to play in the surround sound throughout the house. WiFi, cable TV and a landline are also provided.
If you arrive in your Tesla, feel free to use our charger in the garage.
Once people settle in they usually don't want to leave. Enjoy the sea birds, seal and whale shows right from the living room. If the surf is up it crashes dramatically between the split rock island in front of the enormous living room windows. If you are lucky enough to time your visit with a storm, the waves crash up and over the split rock island that emerges from the ocean right in front of the living room, but of course you are tucked away inside enjoying the show from the warmth of indoors.

It is a spacious, clean, well-designed home in an unbeatable, gorgeous location. The host, Anne was responsive and prompt with our questions and concerns. The water heater was out of commission when we arrived and we discovered this a day into our stay. While it was inconvenient, the host, Anne, was super -responsive and arranged for it to be fixed within a day of of being notified. The house is well-appointed with everything one would need during a stay. We did not get to try the hot tub this time but plan to the next time we rent this property.
Our stay at Timber Cove was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful. The rooms were immaculate, the kitchen was very clean and well stocked. The private rock beach was a daily activity, along with the whale watching. Anything you could think of that you needed, was provided. Anne was very quick to communicate and respond with helpful hints of favorite area restaurants and road conditions. We will return for another stay, as there are not enough hours in the day, to enjoy everything around.
This property exceeds the described listing. All furnishings were comfortable and in very nice condition. With the ocean entertainment, we had no desire to leave. Feeling blessed.
It was perfect. Absolutely phenomenal views, sunsets, tide pools, wild life and total peace. We spent our days on the patio watching whales, dolphins, seals, otters and pelicans. We spent hours exploring the tide pools. We painted the views of Bufano’s peace statue. The hosts were great! They had everything you need, and everything in the house is labeled and easy to use. Last but not least…the gong! We made dinner every night and the gong and sunsets made it all just perfect. This place is beautiful! Just get groceries ahead of time, and don’t leave this paradise.
We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our seven day stay here. During that time we had a major storm over 3 days. The 180 degree view of the the crashing waves from every room was incredible. Good time to play games with the kids inside and enjoy a nice fire. We brought all of our food, and glad we did. Grocery stores and shopping is quite far and very expensive. We did go to Gualala one day to the gift shops, which are very nice. The kitchen was wonderful to cook and prepare meals. Bedrooms are comfy, large and very quite except for the sound of the ocean. We had easy communication with owners who went out of their way to assist when needed. There is a trail from the property down to the ocean. No beach, but fun spot to pick up shells and just explore. Its a little steep but our 5yr and 10yr old girls managed very well. You can not beat the location, no neighbors, just a few seals. Home is clean and nicely maintained. Gardens are beautiful, Gorgeous ocean views with incredible sunsets and sunrise. We will be returning for sure!
Arriving at this vacation home felt like stepping into paradise. The beds were incredibly comfortable, enhanced by the ocean's calming sounds, ensuring a restful sleep. Waking up to the stunning view was a daily delight.
The kitchen was fully equipped, ideal for our cooking needs. We brought groceries but found using Instacart more convenient, saving space in our small SUV—a tip worth sharing.
The property's Japanese garden provided a serene escape, beautiful and peaceful. The view from the kitchen table out to the coast made even work enjoyable. Sunsets in the spa were unforgettable, and beach adventures revealed a wealth of shells and tide pools. Watching seals on the rocks was mesmerizing.
A tip for future visitors coming from distant locations: ensure a full tank, especially before getting on Highway 1. We took a trip to Gualala, I would recommend checking out The Sea Trader and eating at Trinks.
The fast internet was a plus, ensuring smooth connectivity. Our SUV didn't fit in the garage due to our cargo shell, but the garage is huge!
Communication with the owner, Anne, was seamless, enhancing our experience.
In summary, this place was the best and we would love to stay again!
I spent months looking for the right escape — not over crowded/touristy, good restaurant nearby if needed, quality time in nature, and a beautiful view. This place was absolute perfection in all aspects! The house is stunning and very comfortable, while giving you direct access to nature that you’d really only get while camping or backpacking. We saw whales jumping during sunset (cue Free Willy theme song), met adorable seals on the private beach, took the BEST cold plunges in the sea, hiked in the redwoods and near the ocean, went to wine tastings, saw live music at the hotel down the road, and popped over there for cocktails when we felt like having some human contact. I read an entire book front to back, slept with the sounds of the birds and the ocean each night, and enjoyed texts with the owners about the wildlife in the area/things they like to do there. Speaking of which, on top of everything else, Anne and Joe are the best people!! They sent VERY clear check-in instructions and kindly put up with my spacey, exhausted brain when I arrived and couldn’t figure out how to get in. They’re very quick to respond if you need help, and it’s clear they really care/want you to have a nice time. The neighbors and local businesses all adore them, and as their guests you will be immediately welcomed into the lovely, tight-knit community of Fort Ross/Timber Cove. Do not hesitate to book this!!! Pro tip - give yourself plenty of time to pick up your rental car/plan to arrive early!
From the moment we drove up, we were in awe over the beauty of the house, the landscaping, and the views. The property is vast with tasteful, beautiful landscaping throughout, including daffodils and lily of the valley plants. The outdoor lighting surrounds the home, making it super helpful to walk to the hot tub.The lights even get brighter as you pass them.Inside, the home is spacious and beautifully decorated with an ocean theme. The couch is huge and comfy - perfect to sit on and watch the ocean and birds outside. The beds were wonderful to sleep on with the perfect amount of bedding. The dining table is quite large and was perfect for puzzles and games..eating too! The kitchen is spacious and filled with an ample amount of silverware, pots and pans, etc.The kitchen aid professional stove is amazing, and I loved cooking on it (the griddle is the best!) We loved the stove so much we ordered one when we got home! (Although not as large as the one here.) As for the view...it is beyond anything we've seen before. We watched the sun rise to the left, and sun set to the right. Where else can you do that? The rock in front hosted plenty of birds and harbor seals too.We were mesmerized! There is a newly constructed stairway with railing to go down to the shore.I didn't go down it - there were harbor seals basking at the bottom, but I didn't need to.I got my ocean fix from the top.The February weather was amazing, and the seating outside was perfect. I suggest you bring a sunhat!
Marvelous Pacific Coast Home -- Relax and Enjoy Nature
Thoroughly enjoyed 5-night stay. Objective –relax & enjoy nature –fully met by this incredibly well-situated, carefully designed, & nicely appointed home. Never turned on TV or whole-house audio; listened to ocean & birds. We plan to return.
Highlights:
• Endlessly changing fog, sunlight, & strong breezes make a stimulating and unpredictable environment. Varying & sometimes phenomenal sunsets, starry nights, & a small fire in fireplace provide perfect end to each day.
• Very large ocean rock just off point on which house is perched provides endless entertainment (be sure to use binoculars). We counted marine mammals napping on flat rock terrace, ranging from 1 to 10 on different days. Constant activity & sounds of gulls reinforced the fact that we were staying right on ocean (not to mention crashing of waves).
• Huge picture windows on 3 sides of house offer views from every part of living area – sunken living room & wet bar; kitchen, breakfast nook, & coffee bar; as well as entry hall & dining room. You can’t miss constant parade of soaring birds – including gulls, turkey vultures, & squadrons of pelicans.
• We used 6-burner range, griddle, 2 ovens, & charcoal grill. Choice of where to dine – breakfast at table off kitchen, lunch on terrace off living room, and a formal dinner in dining room – adds to the variety of your experience, all with ocean views in daylight.
In sum: unique & exceptional property. Anne very responsive host. Spend the money – it’s worth it!
Lovely home with incredible views, tide pools and seals on the rocks were especially wonderful. Communication with owner was excellent. Experience was both quiet and relaxing, exactly what we were looking for!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay! The house has everything you could possibly need to enjoy living on the California coast. Amazing views, comfy beds and a well stocked kitchen. Lots to see and do in the area if you want to venture out, but really no need to go anywhere else as this place is a slice of heaven!
Absolutely stunning house, location, and view!! This was such a relaxing place for our family to relax and have fun. I would highly recommend this house to anyone, you won’t be disappointed!!
Wonderful place to have a relaxing time. House is beautiful and very clean and view can’t be beat! Property is stocked with everything you could want or need. Anne is super attentive and available if you need her. You will not regret booking this property!
The pictures do not do this justice. The location is beautiful and close to lots of hikes, wineries, and amazing views. The house is clean and well appointed. The owners are very conscientious and excellent communicators. It's a great spot from which to see a beautiful part of the country.
The property was beautiful. Just as described. The new stairway down to the water is going to be gorgeous and a wonderful addition to the property. It was nice to get away from the world and unplug with our family. Kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. We were greeted daily by many deer and foxes.
This is truly a unique and special location. Amazing 180 ocean views atop a cliff from every room. The house was spacious, comfortable and had everything we needed. The property owner was very easy to deal with and we appreciated her graciousness. We are already talking about going back soon!

Great house
This house is really special: it fits lots of people, is very comfortable, and is close to everything. It is 5 minutes to Salt Point State Park to the North, and 5 minutes to Fort Ross to the South. There is so much more to adventure to, further in both directions. We will definitely rent it again in the future!
We made memories with our kids and grands. We stayed put. Was a change not having a TV in every room. We played games and put puzzles together. Had a relaxing three days. Enjoyed the house, The weather was perfect!
