The location is excellent as very near amenities (Kendal is about a 10 mins drive away) and the estate is very well maintained. We were lucky with the weather and could enjoy the BBQ at the common seating area by the river.Cottage itself was very clean and comfortable . The private hot tub was a highlight! The facilities and surroundings were beyond our expectations. The cottage was very spacious and had all we needed with great views in every direction. The hot tub was great way to wind down and relax in the evenings. Both Daryl and Kerith were very welcoming and always tips and ideas on where to visit. We had some lovely conversations with them and its clear to see how much time and effort they have invested in this lovely estate. The location is also close to all the main attractions and only a short drive to the Kendal and Windemere. There are many nearby trails which are worth exploring. Butterfly Cottage was everything we hoped for: beautifully situated in a secluded setting, easy to find, spotlessly clean, very comfortable in all rooms, plenty of space for 5 of us to spread out, private use of a hot tub (another first for us), and very well equipped facilities. Hosts had the perfect balance of being helpful whilst giving is our space. Highly recommend this place. Lots of beautiful walks right from the doorstep too, whilst only being a short drive to the motorway to the East and Windermere less than half hr to the west. The cottage was fabulous, spotlessly clean with everything we needed. The hot tub was great and we used it often we even managed a bbq despite the weather. Great place to stay only 10-15 minutes to supermarkets & Kendal by car. The Wi-Fi was a bit hit and miss but it we didn’t miss it and the phone signal for O2 wasn’t great but we got a signal & 4G if you sat on the stairs We will return. We were very comfortable in this cottage. The kitchen is well equipped. The beds were comfy. The hot tub was very clean and we enjoyed using it despite the cold weather.
