"This looks like your basic roadside motel, but it's quite lovely. The owners recently bought the place and the rooms have obviously been redone, and they're very cute and smart. Ours had a little kitchenette--I don't know if all rooms have one--but it was so nice to have! And the best thing about the Selkirk is that the owner bakes for the guests--fresh homemade pastries (along with fruit and yogurt) every morning, and homemade cookies every afternoon! It's a lovely touch and we really enjoyed our stay!"

"We had been travelling for 9000 KM's on a 3 week vacation and I wanted a nice cozy place to have ahot shower and relax and get ready for camping the next few days. I noticed the room didn't have a hair dryer, so I called the owner, and he had the housekeeper bring me one right away. We loved sitting on our patio chairs and just soaking up the calmness. "

"Nice house with a view of the lake. Close to Kettle Falls. Well stocked kitchen (could use a 2nd spatula and cooking oil). Knives were even sharp!Big BBQ for your use. Has A/C so mice and cool.Shower was awesome.Be sure to bring bug spray as there are mosquitoes Yard is big, but not fenced. A few dogs wandering free in the neighborhood so be aware if your dog is out.Lots of cherries and peaches U-Pick close by."

"What an amazing property!!! Perfect location, breathtaking views and a host that went above and beyond with ideas for surrounding activities. Huge property with allllll the room you could need. The balcony’s were to die for. I gave 4stars on cleanliness due to a musty basement room. This room was clean and tidy but was located in the basement with a window that has their irrigation system above it so water drips down and I’m assuming that would be the reason for the smell. Please do not get me wrong, it wasn’t overwhelming or unusable, it just had a slight musty smell. With all the rooms, you could avoid it and not even know. The kayaks are ready and available for use and the fire pit is a must see! The basement is like its own property/apartment with a kitchen, patio, bathroom, living area and ping pong table. There are beautiful and well maintained plants throughout the house with cascading foliage around every corner. The beds were wonderful and I am a mattress snob so the fact that I’m adding this is huge. I very rarely find a rental with comfortable beds. If ever in the area, I highly recommend staying here for peace, comfort and all the space needed both inside and out.Thank you for making our trip so enjoyable Leslie"

"This was a beautiful property. We had some difficulty with an incorrect WiFi password and not having the cabin key codes, but the host was very responsive and got back to us quickly with any issues. There were a lot of wasp nests on one of the cabins and the outdoor dining space, though nature is nature. We had an incredible time and enjoyed the solitude and privacy. This was a lovely experience and we're glad we had the opportunity to go. "

"The large house is beautifully decorated and has upscale appliances. There are lots of windows and a large deck on the main floor with views of the river and mountains. Due to the long days this time of year we slept in a room in the fully furnished basement where there were shades we could close. A large group could be very comfortable here, as well as just a couple."
