"Words truly cannot describe the setup, setting, and experience that we had during our stay last week for our 15th anniversary! What a truly special place to enjoy on the Big Island and totally worth the drive to get away from all the tourists in the Kona area. Dan is DA MAN who was always available in assisting us with needs/questions leading up to our trip, checking in a couple of times during the trip and never impeding on our stay. "I’m always looking for a quiet place to get away from all of today’s modern stress. The house layout is perfect as you can rest inside and still see all the views or relax on the generous lanai. Walk down to view the ocean and schools of fish by the cliff. And best of all enjoy the plunge pool which is bigger than the pictures indicate. Loved our time here. "This was such a a fun place to stay! We loved all the animal ( geckos, chameleons, and birds). It was also fun to walk the grounds and find fresh fruit! The house was located in a nice spot close to a several hikes and beaches."

"Dave and Wendy were excellent communicators regarding the check-in and check-out process. The VRBO had everything we needed for cooking, laundry, and escaping from the hustle and bustle of life. It was very convenient to get to Volcanoes National Park and Kona from their location. We loved using the French press coffee maker, enjoying the beautiful backyard view, and being surrounded by the sounds of nature. Stargazing in the backyard was one of our favorite memories at the place! 10/10 recommend"

"We loved living here! For two incredible weeks, this home was our personal slice of paradise. We lived with the windows and doors open nearly all the time, letting in the breeze, the birdsong, and the peaceful rhythm of the island. Our daughter loved sleeping on the futon on the lanai most nights, falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the sounds of nature.The house was peaceful, spacious, and thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable, restorative stay. We picked fresh mangoes from the front yard, made fruit salad with local pineapple, and enjoyed sunsets every evening from the lanai.We snorkeled at several beaches around the island and especially appreciated the convenience of Pebbles Beach right at the bottom of the hill—perfect for a quick swim or quiet sunset stop.The location was perfect—quiet and tucked away, yet close enough to beaches, coffee farms, and island adventures. Everything was clean and well-stocked, from the kitchen to the beach gear. It felt less like a rental and more like home.Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us. We’re already looking forward to coming back!"

"We had such a great time. when some of us wanted to go to the beach and some wanted to stay at the house it went safe and they were content. The house was beautiful and comfortable. We cooked together and there was plenty of room for everyone of the 6 of us."

"This is our second time staying here. The yurts are lovely, comfortable and well equipped. The central skylight shows dazzling stars at night. Communication with Lisa is excellent and speedy and helpful. Love love love the view of South point from up where the weather is delightfully cool, but not cold. We hope to go back again if we can! "This house is exactly as described. Room for 8 (if 2 are thin and short or are children). The host is very communicative and helpful. The check in and check out process is very easy. There are games in the basement and the host has a whole shed of snorkels, fins, chairs, beach equipment, etc. Really great if you've come from far and obviously couldn't pack your own.Why this house might not be for you: it is rural. If you want to go to Kona it's 1 to 1 1/2 hours away. Volcanoes NPS is about 2 hours away. If you are looking for restaurants or activities, you will be doing a lot of driving. Except for a few beaches, most of them are a drive too because you're on a mountain...it's a slow, curvy ride everywhere.If you are a nervous driver or get carsick, this is not for you. The road is steeped and very curvy. My family doesn't get sick...until our last day. But it was fun to see the mongooses and wild pigs in the road. If you like long, hot showers, this is not for you. There is little water in this area...you can't drill a well into volcanic rock and there's no public water. So you are taking short showers as the host requests. Also, I don't think I ever had a HOT shower. Even if I insisted on taking a 2-minute shower before my kids, the water would get warm (I always describe it as "llama spit") but never hot. "
